OF THE TUSTIN CITY COUNCIL
AUGUST 18, 1958
COUNCILMEN PRESENT: Kidd, Humeston & Byrd
ABSENT : Tadlock & Bacon
CITY ATTORNEY : Dennis D. Hayden, present
Mayor Kidd called the meeting to order at ?:a0 P. M.
On motion of Councilman Byrd, seconded by Councilman Humeston
and carried, minutes of the mrevious meeting were approved
as mailed.
in a letter to the Council Mr. Frank. Blauvelt, 12222 Skyline
Drive, voiced his appreciation of the manner in which the
recent proposed annexation was conducted.
TEMPLE A request to solicit advertisements fer a project book
BETH for Temple ~elth Sho!om, Santa Aria, was granted, on motion
SHOLOM of Councilman Humeaton, seconded by Councilman Byrd, and
carried.
ORANGE Orange County insurance Agency requested that a proof of
CO. INS. loss form be executed to obtain settlement of a comprehensive
COMPANY claim in the amount of $94.26 to the City of Tustin.
Motion of Councilman Byrd, seconded by Councilman Humeston
that the City Clerk be authorized to sign the above proof
of loss. Motion carried.
City Engimeer McBride presented a detailed report on a
ALLEY proposal that the City take over the alley between Third
BETWEEN Street and Main Street, back of the Utt Juice Comoany plant.
THIRD Due to the many complications, it was decided that City
& MAIN. Attorney Hayden and Engineer McBride contact the various
property owners and see if they would be willing to defray
a portion of the expence of "putting it into shape" and then
have the City maintain it in the future.
ESTAB- City Engineer McBride also recommended the following
LISH- motion: Motion of Councilman Rumeston, seconded by Council-
MENT OF man Byrd that the outside edge of the sidewalk on East

WALK. Tract No. 2187 be established as 30 feet from the center
line of said Third Street. Motion carried.
RESOLU- Motion of Councilman Humeaton, seconded by Councilman
TION # Byrd that RESOLUTION NO. 448, "A Resolution that the
448 contract between the City of Tustin and the Griffith
Company for the improvement of Second Street, California
Street and Main Street be approved, and the Mayor and City
Clerk be authiorized to execute same, and the surety bond
and performance bond hereby approved, and the City Clerk
authorized to return Bidder's Bonds, be adopted. Motion
carried, all Councilmen present voting Aye.
ORD Motion of Councilman Humeaton, seconded by Councilman Byrd
# that Ordinance No. 117, "An Ordinance of the City Council
117 of the City of Tustin fixing and determining the amount of
revenue necessary to be raised by taxation upon the taxable
property within the City of Tustin, and the amount of
revenue necessary to carry on the various departments of
said City for the fiscal year 1958-59", have its second
reading in its entirety. Motion carried.
Motion of Councilman Byrd, seconded by Councihnan Humeston
that Ordinance No. 118 be adopted. Motion carried, all
Councilmen present voting Aye.
COM- Motion of Councilman Humeston, seconded by Councilman Byrd
PEN that Z1ESOLUTION N0. 449, "A Resolution of the City Council
SAT- of the City of Tustin changing the compensation of the City
ION Attorney of the City of Tustin", be adopted. Motion carried,
FOR all Councilmen present voting Aye.

Motion of Councilman Humeaton, seconded by Councilman Byrd
that the City Clerk be authorized to purchase a new typewriter,
not to exceed $225.00 in cost. Motion carried.
Motion of Councilman Humeston, seconded by Councilman Byrd
that the bills be paid. Motion carried.
