HomeMy WebLinkAboutCC MINUTES 1958 07 23 MINUTES OF A REGULAR ADJOURNED MEETING 0F THE TUSTIN CITY COUNCIL JULY 23, 1958. COUNCILMEN PRESENT: Bacon, Byrd, Humeston & Tadlock COUNCILMEN ABSENT: Kidd. CITY ATTORNEY: Dennis D. Hayden, present. Meeting was called to order at 7:30~P. M. by Mayor Pro tem Bacon. TOTAL ASSESS- The hearing on the proposed Greater Tustin Annexation to the ED VALUATION City of Tustin was immediately re-opened. City Clerk Park & TOTAL read his Certification of total Assessed Valuation of real AMOUNT OF property and his findings as to the total amount of protests, PROTESTS pertaining to the proposed Greater Tustin Annexation to the READ. City of Tustin filed in his office up until 7:30 P. M. July 23, 1958. Total Valuation $1,760,910 Protest filed $674,687 Motion of Councilman Byrd, seconded by Councilman Humeston that the Certification of the City Clerk be received and filed. Motion carried. HEARING ON Motion of Councilman Tadiock, seconded by Councilman Byrd GREATER TUSTIN that the hearing on the proposed Greater Tustin Annexation ANNEXATION be declared closed. Motion carried. CLOSED. Motion of Councilman Humeston, seconded by Councilman Byrd that it be found and declared that written protest has not been made by the owners of one half of the value of the territory proposed to be annexed in the Greater Tustin Annexation, as shown by the last equalized assessment roll of the County of Orange. Motion carried. TEN DAYS City Attorney Hayden stated to those present, the provision ALLOWED FOR in the Government Code regarding theeannexation of territory SUPPLEMENTAL to cities, that they would be allowed to file supplemental PROTESTS protests for a period of ten days and that in as much as the tenth day was on Saturday August 2, 1958, the City Clerk's office being closed, that all protests must be filed not later than 5:00 P.
