COUNCILMEN PRESENT:n Bacon, Byrd, Humeston & Tadlock ABSENT: Kidd CITY ATTORNEY: Dennis Do Hayden, present. Meeting was called to order by Mayor Pro tem Bacon at 7:30 P.M. On motion of Councilman Tadlock, seconded by Councilman Byrd and duly carried, the minutes of the previous meeting were approved as mailed. Mayor Pro tem Bacon opened the Protest Hearing on the proposed "Greater Tustin Annexation." Motion of Councilman Tadlock, seconded by Councilman Humeston and carried, that the hearing on the proposed "Greater Tustin Annexation" be continued to 8:00 P. M. in the large front room of the City Hall. Mayor Pro tem opened the hearing on Zoning and Setbacks for the proposed "Greater Tustin Annexation." Motion of Councilman Humeston, seconded by Councilman Tadlock that the Tustin City Council meeting be continued in the large front room of the Tustin City Hall. Motion carried. Motion of Councilman Humeston, seconded by Councilman Tadlock that the hearing on Zoning and Setbacks for the proposed "Greater Tustin Annexation" be continued to 7:35 P. M. in the large front room of the Tustin City Hall Motion carried. HEARING ON The hearing on Zoning and Setbacks for the "Greater Tustin ZONING AND Annexation" was re-opened by Mayor Pro tem Bacon at 7:35 P. M. After some discussion from members of the audience, on motion of Councilman Byrd, seconded by Councilman Tadlock, the hearing on Zoning and Setbacks for the proposed "Greater Tustin An- nexation" was ordered closed. Motion carried. ADOPT REC- Motion of Councilman Humeston, seconded by Councilman Byrd OMMENDATIONS that the Tustin City Council adopt the recommendations of the TUSTIN PLAN. Motion carried. RESOLUTION Motion of Councilman Humeston, seconded by Councilman Tadlock NO. 444 that RESOLUTION NO. 444, incorporating the above provisions, ADOPTED be adopted. PROTEST Mayor Pro tem Bacon re-opened the Protest Hearing on the HEARING ON proposed "Greater Tustin Annexation". PROPOSED GREATER Approximately One Hundred Twenty-Five people were present TUSTIN and a great many expressed their views regarding the Annexation. ANNEX. Motion of Councilman Humeston, seconded by Councilman Tadlock that the protests to the proposed "Greater Tustin Annexation" be received and referred to the City Clerk for checking. Motion carried. 57 ORANGE CO. Motion of Councilman Humeston, seconded by Councilma~ TRAFFIC COM. Tadlock that the Protest Hearing for the proposed REGARDING "Greater Tustin Annexation" be continued until Tuesday, "NO PARKING" July 22nd, 1958 at 7:30 P- M. Motion carried. TUSTIN AVE. On motion of Councilman Tadlock, seconded by Councilman Byrd and duly carried, a letter from the Orange County Traffic Committee regarding "No Parking" on a portion of Tustin Avenue, South of First Street was referred to City EngineerIMcBride for report. Motion of Councilman Humeston, seconded bY Councilman OPPOSITION Tadlock that the Tustin City Council go on record as being ON GRAVEL opposed to a Variance request for removing gravel East REMOVAL of the Yorba Street bridge in the Santa Ana Canyon be- cause of possible interference with the underground water supply, and the City Clerk be instructed to so inform the Orange County Board of Supervisors. Motion carried unanimously. Councilman Byrd stated that in his opinion the old street truck was badly in need of major repairs. REPAIRS TO On motion of Councilman Rumeston, seconded by Council- STREET man Tadlock, that not to exceed $150.00 be allowed TRUCK APPRO- for repairs to said truck. Motion carried. VED. City Engineer McBride presented Plans and Specifications ADOPTION OF for the improvement of portions of Second Street, Main RESOLUTION Street and California Street. Motion of Councilman #445 TadIock, seconded by Councilman Byrd that RESOLUTION NO. 445, calling for the above improvements be adopted. Motion carried, all Councilmen present voting Aye. RESOLUTION Motion of Councilman Tadlock, seconded by Councilman #446 ADOPTED Humeston, that RESOLUTION NO. 446 approving the agree- ment with the state of California for the accumulation of Gas Tax allocation to the City of Tustin, be adopted. Motion carried, all Councilmen present voting Aye. Motion of Councilman Tadlock, seconded by Councilman Byrd that the bills be paid. Motion carried.
