OF THE TUSTIN CITY COUNCIL,
MAY 19, 1958
COUNCILMEN PRESENT : Kidd, Tadlock, Humeston & Byrd.
ABSENT : Bacon.
CITY ATTORNEY : Dennis D. Hayden, present.
Meeting called to order by Mayor Kidd at 7:40 P.
On motion of Councilman Byrd, secondedby Councilman
Humeston and carried, the minutes of the previous
meeting were approved as mailed.
GAYLORD Building inspector George Gaylord, tendered the Council
RESIG- a letter of resignation, effective June 10th, 1958.
NATION.
Mr. Yost, manager of the Orange County Fair in a letter
TUSTIN to the Council, requested Mayor Kidd to issue a
DAY PRO- proclamation proclaiming May 31st, 1958 as Tustin Day
CLAMATION which was complied with.
Motion of Councilman Byrd, seconded by Councilman Humeston
that the correspondence be received and filed. Motion
carried.
ALLOCATION City Engineer McBride reported on the estimated allocation
ON GAS TAX of Gas Tax Funds for the fiscal year 1958-59 and recommended
FUNDS FOR that they again be accumulated. He also reported that
1958-59 he was negotiating with the Orange County Road Department
on resurfacing the Cities' half of East Main Street and
on motion of Councilman Humeston, seconded by Councilman
Byrd and carried, it was recommended that the above
negotiations be approved.
After Engineer McBride had concluded his reports to the
PLAQUE Council, Mayor Kidd presented him with a Plaque on which
FOR was inscribed an appreciation of his 25 years service
MCBRIDE to the city. Mr. McBride briefly reviewed his public
service which included the County of Orange and City of
Santa Ana and stated that in all that time, this was the
only time he had been presented a Plaque or other token
showing recognition of his services.
EXTENSION Motion of Councilman Byrd, seconded by Councilman Tadlock
ON CENTRAL that RESOLUTION NO. 439, A Resolution of the City Council
TRAFFIC of the City of Tustin extending the limits of Central
LIMITS Traffic District "'C", be adopted. Motion carried, all
"C" Councilmen present voting Aye.
EXPRESS- On recommendation of City Engineer McBride, RESOLUTION
WAY PLAN NO. 440, a Resolution approving the map of the proposed
FOR LOS Freeway and EXPRESSWAY PLAN FOR LOS ANGELES COUNTY, was
ANGELES adopted upon motion of Councilman Tadlock, seconded by
COUNTY Councilman Humeston. All Councilman present voting
Aye.
On motion of Councilman Tadlock, seconded by Councilman
Humeston and carried, ther bills were ordered paid.
