HomeMy WebLinkAboutCC MINUTES 1958 04 15 MINUTES OF AN ADJOURNED REGULAR MEETING OF THE TUSTIN CITY COUNCIL APRIL 15, 1958. COUNCILMEN PRESENT: Kidd, Tadlock, Humeston, Bacon & Byrd. COUNCILMEN ABSENT: None. CITY ATTORNEY: Dennis D. Hayden, present. The meeting was called to order by Mayor Kidd at 7:30 P. M. MUNICIPAL City Clerk, A. O. Park opened and read four (2) Absentee ELECTION Ballots, making a total number of votes cast for the Municipal Election of April 8, 1958, of 221 votes. RESOLUTION RESOLUTION NO. 435, A Resolution of the City Council of NO. 435 the City of Tustin, California, declaring results of the Municipal election was presented, read and adopted upon motion of Councilman Tadlock, seconded by Councilman Humeston. All Councilmen voting Aye. NOMINA- City Clerk, A. O. Park, administered the Oath of Office TIONS to Councilmen-elect, Jerome C. Kidd and Lee Byrd and thereupon conducted the meeting and called for nominations for the office of Mayor. Councilman, Jerome C. Kidd was nominated. There being no further nominations, the nominations were declared closed. Upon motion of Councilman Humeston, seconded by Councilman Tadlock and carried, Councilman Jerome C. Kidd was continued in office as Mayor of the City of Tustin, Calif- ornia. All Councilmen voting Aye. APP'T OF Motion of Councilman Byrd, seconded by Councilman Humeston MAYOR AND that Frank E. Bacon, Jr. continue to act as Mayor Pro tem. MAYOR PRO Motion carried. TEM Mayor Kidd re-appointed all Commissioners to act in their present capacity. RESOLUTION Motion of COuncilman Byrd, seconded by Councilman Bacon NO. 436 that RESOLUTION NO. 236, a Resolution of the City Council of the City of Tustin, appointing officials and employees of the City of Tustin, be adopted. Motion carried, all Councilmen voting Aye. MCBRIDE City Engineer, J. L. McBride presented a letter of RESIG- resignation as City Engineer, to take effect at the discretion NATION of the Council. On motion of Councilman Bacon, seconded DISCRE- by Councilman Tadlock and carried, the letter was ordered TION OF to be taken under submission. COUNCIL A letter containing a motion from the minutes of the GREATER Tustin Planning Commission, passed at a regular meeting TUSTIN held April 14, 1958, was read to the Council in which they ANNEXA- requested that favorable action be taken on the proposed TION Greater Tustin Annexation. On motion of Councilman Humeston, seconded by Councilman Byrd that the above letter be received and filed. Motion carried. A request for consent of the City Council of the PROCEEDINGS City of Tustin to commencs proceedings for the BEGIN ON annexation of certain contiguous inhabited territory, G.T. ANNEX. signed by twenty (RO)~propei~ty owners, was received and read. Motion of Councilman Bacon seconded by Councilman RESOLU- Byrd, that RESOLUTION NO. 437a Resolution of the TION NO City CounCil of the City of Tustin consenting to 437 the Commencement of proceedings for the annexation of inhabited territory to the City of Tustin be adopted.
