CONTINUED CONSIDERATION OF USE PERNIT 84-8 (APPEAL)

DISCUSSION:
The City Council at its meeting on June 18, 1984 continued consideration of the
subject Use Permit to the City Council's regular meeting on July 16, 1984. This
continuatlon was granted permitting the applicant to meet with City Staff and
modify the subject project in a manner which wou~d reduce impacts upon
surrounding single-family residential homes. The Council generally requested
that the project's overall density be reduced to something less than the 48
units proposed, that some of the two story structures be reduced to one story,
and additional landscape screening be provided where possible. Staff met with
the applicant's architect Mr. Gary Daugherty on June 27, 1984 to provide general
direction.
Following staff's meeting with Mfr. Daugherty, the attached site plan was
submitted. The revised plan has been highlighted for Council to identify
specific changes over the original plan. Specifically, the density has not
been reduced nor have any two story buildings been reduced to one story.
However, positive changes worth noting are increases in the landscape plantings
to help maintain adjoining property owner privacy.
In Staff's opinion the applicant has not made any substantial changes to the
site plan as directed by Council. Since Council previously did not support
48 units proposed, the plan attached appears to warrant denial as submitted.
