HomeMy WebLinkAboutCC MINUTES 1958 03 03 MINUTES OF A REGULAR MEETING OF THE TUSTIN CITY COUNCIL, MARCH 3, 1958 COUNCILMEN PRESENT: Kidd, Tadlock, Humeston, Bacon & Byrd. COUNCILMEN ABSENT: None. CITY ATTORNEY: Dennis D. Hayden, present. Meeting called to order at 7:40 P. M. by Mayor Kidd. On motion of Councilman Bacon, seconded by Councilman Byrd and carried, the minutes of last meeting were approved as mailed. BLIND A request by Blind Industries Sales, Inc. a non-profit INDUSTRY organization, to solicit and make deliveries with the REQUEST City of Tustin without a City License, was approved on motion of Councilman Byrd, seconded by Councilman Humeston. DRAINAGE City Engineer McBride reported that a drainage, as well as YOUTH CEN- parking problem existed at the site for the proposed TER BLDG Tustin Youth Center Building. CIVIL On motion of Councilman Byrd, seconded by Councilman Humeston DEFENSE and carried, the letter from R. I. (Cuba) Morris, regarding the purchase of radio equipment for Civil Defense was ordered received and filed. Motion of Councilman Byrd, seconded by Councilman Bacon PURCHASE that new Municipal Code Books be purchased for the City OF CODE Clerk's office. Motion carried. BOOKS Charles Greenwood and John Siegel appeared before the Council regarding the proposed annexation off certain property in the vicinity of Irvine Blvd and Newport Avenue. LETTER TO The proposed extension of 4th Street was also discussed and ORANGE CO. on motion of Councilman Bacon, seconded by Councilman Humeston PLANNING and carried, that a letter be drafted to the Orange County COMM. Planning Commission requesting that consideration be given to the termination of 4th Street, at the present intersection of Irvine Blvd and Newport Avenue. PURCHASE Motion of Counciiman Humeston seconded by Councilman Tadlock OF KIT that a police Training Kit be purchased for the police Department for $85.00. Miotion carried.
