PUBLIC HEARING - 1984 PRELIMINARY BUDGET AND REVENUE SHARING
The City Council has conducted a workshop regarding the preliminary budget and
consistent with its standing policy, scheduled a public hearing prior to
adoption of the budget.
The public'hearing concerning the allocation of 1984-85 revenue sharing funds is
for the purpose of determining the amount of funds to be allocated for community
groups. The City's revenue sharing guidelines provide that following the
allocation of an amount, the City's Revenue Sharing Review Committee will review
individual requests from community groups and then submit a recommendation to
the City Council.
The City Council allocated $30,000 in 1983-84 for community groups. The 1984-85
preliminary budget includes $40,000 for community groups.
RECOMMENDATION:
That following 61osure of the public hearing, the City Council adopt the
1984-85 budget as submitted or amended by the City Council.
That $40,000 in revenue sharing funds be allocated for community groups
subject to recommendations from the Revenue Sharing Review Committee and
final review and approval of the City Council.
