HomeMy WebLinkAboutCC 5 RESTRICTED PKG 06-18-84 CONSENT CALENDAR Inter-Corn JUNE 12, 1984 $ UBJ (CT: WILLIAM HUSTON, CITY MANAGER BOB LEDENDECKER, DIRECTOR OF PUBLIC WORKS/CITY ENGINEER REQUEST FOR RESTRICTED PARKING DURING STREET SWEEPING OPERATIONS RECOMMENDATION: That the Tustin City Council, at their meeting of June 18, 1984, authorize the installation of signing to restrict on-street parking during street sweeping hours, 6:00 A.M. to Noon on Monday, on all the streets within the Walnut Park Community Development. It is further recommended that warnings be issued in lieu of citations for the first 30 days after sign installation. BACKGROUND: A request for restricted parking during street sweeping operations on all streets within the Walnut Park Community Development between Walnut and Mitchell Avenues has been received from the Homeowners Association Management Co. (copy. attached). DISCUSSION: The proposed parking prohibition would encompass both sides of the following streets: Tupelo Lane Walden Lane Hamlet Lane Kipling Lane Bi mi ngham P1 ace Penrith Lane Denbigh Lane Foresterra Lane Almside Drive Wildeve Lane Windemere Lane Grassmere Lane Langdale Lane Atherton Lane Tenby Lane The suggested signing for this parking prohibition would read as follows., NO PARKING 6:00 A.M. TO NOON MONDAY STREET SWEEPING with signs being located at three locations as shown in red on the attached map. J REQUEST FOR RESTRICTED PARKING DURING STREET SWEEPING OPERATIONS JUNE 12, 1984 PAGE 2 The City Council has approved several other requests similar to this request and their implementation enables the street sweeper to do amore complete job of sweeping in a lesser amount of time and with fewer hazards of maneuvering around parked cars. Please review. Per ~he letter of January 19, 1984, the Association held their Annual Membership Meeting on May 24,- 1984, and by majority vote approved the posting of No Parking signs to be enforced on city street sweeping days. Accordingly, we ask your assistance in bringing this matter before the City Manager's office and City Council's office for appropriate action/approval. Thank you.
