HomeMy WebLinkAboutCC MINUTES 1957 11 25 MINUTES OF A REGULAR MEETING OF THE TUSTIN CITY COUNCIL, MONDAY, NOVEMBER 25th, 1957 COUNCILMEN PRESENT: Kidd, Tadlock, Humeston, Bacon & Byrd. COUNCILMEN ABSENT: None. CITY ATTORNEY : Dennis D. Hayden, present. Meeting was called to Order at 7:40 P. M. by Mayor Kidd. On motion of Councilman Byrd, seconded by Councilman Bacon, Minutes of the last meeting were approved as mailed. A letter was read from Mr. W. D. Obarr, Secretary of the Orange County Mosquito Abatement District, commending the services of Councilman Vincent L. Humeston and stating that his term of office expires on December 31st, 1957 and requested that he be reappointed or a successor appointed for the next two year term. Councilman Humeston stated that he had no object- ions to serving another term. RE-APPOIN- Motion by Councilman Byrd, seconded by Councilman Tadlock TMENT OF that Vincent L- Humeston be re-appointed to serve the next two HUMESTON year term as Trustee, for the Orange County Mosquito Abatement MOSQUITO District. Motion carried. ABATEMENT A written request from the Craig Development Corp. to erect REQUEST a sign, advertising their subdivision, on the Dixon Tubbs CRAIG property at First and Tustin Avenue., was presented to the DEVEL- Council for action. OPEMENT Motion by Councilman Bacon, seconded by Councilman Byrd that the Craig Development Corporation be permitted to erect a sign as requested, after clearance by Chief of police Johansen- Motion carried. CANCELLA- Motion by Councilman Humeston, seconded by Councilman Tadlock TION OF that City Attorney Dennis D. Hayden be directed to sign a TAXES ON consent to cancellation of taxes on property on TustinAvenue, TUSTIN purchased by the State Highway Department. Motion carried. AVE. Motion by Councilman Humeston, seconded by Councilman Byrd 2nd that ORDINANCE NO. 115 have its second reading in its entirety. READING Motion carried. ORD 115 Motion by Councilman Byrd, seconded by Councilman Humeston ADOPTION that ORDINANCE N0. 115, be adopted. Motion carried, all Councilmen voting Aye. REX-O- Motion by Councilman Bacon, seconded by Councilman Tadlock GRAPH that a Rex-O-Graph Duplicator be purchased for use by the PURCHASE city. Motion carried. ALLEY OFF Motion by Councilman Byrd, seconded by Councilman Tadlock, D STREET that City Engineer McBride be authorized to have the alley RE-SUR- off D Street, between Third Street and Main Street, surfaced FACED. according to the specifications furnished by Hardy & Harper. Motion carried. On motion of Councilman Bacon, seconded by Councilman Tadlock and carried, that the bills including the invoice for dues, from the International Conference of Building Officials, be paid.
