HomeMy WebLinkAboutCC MINUTES 1957 09 10 MINUTES OF A REGULAR MEETING OF THE TUSTIN CITY COUNCIL, TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 10, 1957. COUNCILMEN PRESENT: Kidd, Tadlock, Bacon & Byrd. COUNCILMEN ABSENT = Humeston. CITY ATTORNEY : Dennis D. Hayden, present. Meeting was called to order by Mayor Kidd at On motion of Councilman Byrd, seconded by Councilman Bacon and carried, minutes were approved as corrected and mailed. A letter from the "Butterfield Outdoor Advertising Corp." was BUTTERFIELD read, requesting permission to erect a 12' X 24' sign for the ADV. CORP. sale of houses and lots for the Capri Estates, at the Northeast corner of Tustin Avenue and First Street. On motion of Councilman Byrd, seconded by Councilman Bacon and carried, permission was grated. 20 MIN. Mr. A1 Beeson in his letter, requested a 20 minute parking PARKING zone on D Street in front of the First National Bank. Motion of Counbilman Tadlock, seconded by Councilman Bacon that the granting of the request be left to the discretion of Street Commissioner Byrd and Chief of Police Johansen. Motion carried. BALMER A petition was presented, signed by Mr. H. E. Balmer et al, PETITION requesting annexation to the City of Tustin. FOR ANNEX. Motion of Councilman Tadlock, seconded by Councilman Bacon that RESOLUTION N0. 423, "A Resolution of intention to annex certain territory described herein to the City of Tustin, RESOLUTION pursuant to the annexation of uninhabited territory act of 1939, NO. 423. as amended, describing the territory to be annexed, designating the name of the annexation as "Samuel Tustin Annexation to the City of Tustin.," and giving notice of a time and place for hearing of protests thereto," be adopted. Motion carried, all councilmen present voting Aye. Mayor Kidd gave a brief report on the status of the engineering SANITARY survey, for trrunk sewer lines in Sanitary District No. 7 and DISTRICT on motion of Councilman Byrd seconded by Councilman Tadlock, he #7 was aubhorized to use his own discretion in the acceptance of said reports. Motion carried. PARK Motion of Councilman Bacon, secended by Councilman Tadlock that LEAVE OF City Clerk Park be granted permission to leave the state from ABSENCE. September 20th, 1957 to October 7th, 1957. Motion carried. DENNIS D. Motion of Councilman Tadlock, seconded by Councilman Bacon, HAYDEN, that the City of Tustin defray actual expenses for City Attorney EXPENSES. Dennis D. Hayden to attend the annual City League Convention in San Franclsco. Motion carried. BALMER Motion by Councilman Tadlock, seconded by Councilman Byrd PETITION than the Petition for annexation, filed by Mr. H. E. Balmer FILED. et al, be received and filed. Motion carried. Motion of Councilman Tadlock, seconded by Councilman Bacon that the bills be paid. Motion carried.
