MINUTES OF A REGULAR MEETING
OF THE TUSTIN CITY COUNCIL
MONDAY, JULY 22, 1957
COUNCILMAN PRESENT: Kidd, Tadlock, Humeaton & Byrd.
COUNCILMEN ABSENT: Bacon
DEPUTY CITY ATTORNEY: Dennis D. Hayden, present.
Meeting was called to order at 7:20 p. M. by Mayor Kidd.
On motion of Councilman Humeston, seconded by Councilman
Byrd and carried, the minutes were approved as mailed.
After reading correspondence, on motion by Councilman Byrd,
seconded by Councilman Humeston and carried, correspondence
was ordered received and filed.
City Attorney Nisson's letter of resignation was re-read.
Motion by Councilman Byrd, seconded by Councilman Tadlock
that the resignation of C. Arthur Nisson, Jr. as City
Attorney for the City of Tustin be accepted as of August 1,
1957. Motion carried.
Motion by Councilman Byrd, seconded by Councilman Humeston
that Dennis D. Hayden be appointed City Attorney for the
City of Tustin, effective August 1, 1957. Motion carried.
On motion of Councilman Humeston, seconded by Councilman
Byrd and carried, the preceding motions accepting the
resignation of C. Arthur Nisson, Jr. as City Attorney
and appointing Dennis D. Hayden as City Attorney for
the City of Tustin were recinded.
RESOLUTION NO Motion by Councilman Byrd, seconded by Councilman Humeston
420 ACCEPTING that RESOLUTION N0. 420, "A Resolution accepting the
RESIGNATION resignation of C. Arthur Nisson, Jr. as City Attorney
C. ARTHUR NISSON, for the City of Tustin; effective August 1, 1957 and
JR. & APPOINTING appointing Dennis D. Hayden, City Attorney and Deputy
DENNIS D. HAYDEN City Clerk, for the City of Tustin, effective August 1,
CITY ATTORNEY& 1957, be adopted. Motion carried, all Councilmen
DEPUTY CITY CLERK present voting Aye.
Motion of Councilman Tadlock, seconded by Councilman
RESOLUTION NO. Humeston, that RESOLUTION NO 421, "A Resolution commending C. ·
421 COMMENDING Arthur Nisson, Jr., for his loyal and valuable service to
C. ARTHUR NISSON, the City of Tustin as City Attorney during his term of office,"
JR. be adopted. Motion carried. All Councilmen present voting
Aye.
Councilman Humeston brought up the question of truck traffic
TRUCK TRAFFIC on certain streets and on motion of himself, seconded by
SIGNS AUTHOR- Councilman Tadlock, Chief of Police Johansen was ordered
IZED TO PURCHASE to confer with City Engineer McBride, and was authorized
& INSTALL to purchase and install necessary signs designating type
and weight, for vehicle traffic. Motion carried.
Motion by Councilman Tadlock, seconded by Councilman Byrd
that the bills be paid. Motion carried.
