MINUTES OF A MEETING OF THE
TUSTIN CITY COUNCIL, MONDAY
APRIL 22nd, 1957
COUNCILMEN PRESENT: Kidd, Tadlock, Humeston, Bacon & Byrd,
ABSENT: None
CITY ATTORNEY: C. Arthur Nisson, Jr. present.
Mayor Kidd called the meeting to order at 7:~5 P. M.
Motion by Councilman Bacon, seconded by Councilman Byrd that
the minutes be approved as mailed. Motion Carried.
A letter from the Cerebral Palsy Association was read by
CEREBRAL Mayor Kidd, requesting permission to solicit funds in the
PALSY City of Tustin during the month of May.
On motion by Councilman Bacon, seconded by Councilman
Byrd and duly carried, the above request was granted.
DANCE Pursuant to a letter of request from the Revere House and
PERMIT upon recommendation of Chief of Police Johansen, a motion
FOR was made by Councilman Byrd, seconded by Councilman Bacon
REVERE that the Revere House be issued a dance permit. Motion carried.
HOUSE.
Motion by Councilman Tadlock, seconded by Councilman Humeston
that RESOLUTION NO. 414 "A Resolution of the City Council of
RESOLU- the City of Tustin prescribing notice of special election,
TION # establishing voting precincts, polls, appointing election
414 officials and providing for the conduct of said election,"
be adopted. Motion carried, all Councilmen voting Aye.
Motion by Councilman Humeston, seconded by Councilman Tadlock,
that RESOLUTION N0. 415, " Resolution of the City Council of the
City of Tustin accepting deed and authorizing recording
thereof," be adopted. Motion carried, all Councilmen voting
Aye.
After some discussion on a Dog Lease Ordinance, on motion
DOG LEASH by Councilman Tadlock, seconded by Councilman Byrd and duly
ORDINANCE carried, City Attorney Nisson was instructed to present a
Dog Leash Ordinance for consideration at the next Council
Meeting.
Mr. Kelly Adams appeared before the Council and requested
that he and his sister be granted a license to conduct a
palmistry business.
PALMISTRY Motion by Councilman Tadlock, seconded by Councilman Humeston
PERMIT that a license be granted Mr. Adams and sister for a continuous
GRANTED. period of not less than 30 days, contingent upon clearance by
Chief of Police Johansen. Motion carried.
CONTRACT The Committee appointed by Mayor Kidd to inventigate the
WITH THE feasibility of hiring an outside disposal service to service
HOLTHE the city for trash and garbage pickup, reported that in their
DISPOSAL opinion it would save the city money and recommended the
SERVICE contract be let to the Holthe Disposal Service at a revised
bid of $564.00. Mr. Hambarian of the Orange Disposal Service
was present and objected to the city granting the above contract
on the basis that his bid for the same service was lower in
price. On recommendation of City Attorney Nisson, the matter
was delayed for further study and suggested that he and
Engineer McBride work together in setting up specifications for
a contract.

OBJECTION A petition signed by owners of acreage north of the city of
ON Tustin and south of 17th Street, was presented to the City
ANNEXATION Council, objecting to annexation by the City of Tustin, and
stating that they preferred to remain just as they were. On
motion by Councilman Bacon, seconded by Councilman Byrd and carried,
the petition was ordered received and filed.
ADOPTION
OF Motion by Councilman Byrd, seconded by Councilman Bacon, that
RESOLU- RESOLUTION NO. 416 "a Resolution approving and accepting a

#416 Motion carried, all councilmen voting Aye.
Motion by Councilman Bacon, seconded by Councilman Humeston
that the bills be paid.
