HomeMy WebLinkAboutCC MINUTES 1957 03 11 MINUTES OF A REGULAR MEETING OF THE TUSTIN CITY COUNCIL MONDAY, MARCH 11, 1957 COUNCILMEN PRESENT: Kidd, Tadlock, Humeston, Bacon & Byrd. ABSENT: None. CITY ATTORNEY: C. Arthur Nisson, Jr. present. Mayor Kidd called the meeting to order at 7:30 P. M. Motion by Councilman Byrd, seconded by Councilman Bacon, that the minutes be approved as mailed out. Motion carried. Mayor Kidd opened the hearing on zoning and setbacks for the "A. R. Morris Annexation to Tustin." There being no one present to protest, the hearing was declared closed. On motion by Councilman. Byrd, seconded by Councilman Bacon, MORRIS ANN- that findings and recommendations of the Planzing Commission EXATION on zoning and setbacks for the "A. R. Morris Annexation to Tustin" be accepted by the Council and that City Attorney Nisson prepare an Ordinance to that effect. Motion carried. ORDINANCE Motion by Councilman Bacon, seconded by Councilman Byrd, #108 that Ordinance No. 108 be approved for it's second reading. Motion carried. ADOPTION Motion by Councilman Bacon, seconded by Councilman Byrd that #108 ORDINANCE NO. 108 be adopted. Motion carried, all councilmen voting Aye. RESOLUTION Motion-by Councilman Byrd, seconded by Councilman Bacon that #411 RESOLUTION NO. 411 be adopted. Motion carried, all councilmen voting Aye. A letter from the Market Basket was read asking permission to blacktop the Parkways adjacent to their new market at 6th & D Street. MARKET After discussion by members of the Council, a Motion by BASKET Councilman Byrd, seconded by Councilman Tadlock that rather than PARKWAY blacktop, it would be in the public interest that cement, of sidewalk specifications be used and provision made for the planting of trees at distances to be specified by the city. Motion carried. The City Clerk was ordered to inform the Market Basket Co. of the above action. It seems that pickup of trash and garbage from the Revere House REVERE has disrupted the routine of the disposal department of the City HOUSE and has put an extra burden on their normal capacity. On Motion by Councilman Tadlock, seconded by Councilman Humeston, Councilman Byrd was authorized to come up with a solution, and if necessary, to hire outside service. Motion carried. ANSWERING Motion by Councilman Tadlock, seconded by Councilman Byrd SERVICE that Chief Johansen be authorized to have after-hours calls for Police, relayed to an answering service. Motion carried. 280 Motion by Councilman Bacon, seconded by Councilman Tadlock, that the bills, with the exception of the Selman Chevrolet Co. statement, be paid. Motion carried.
