HomeMy WebLinkAboutCC MINUTES 1957 02 11274 MINUTES OF A REGULAR MEETING OF THE TUSTIN CITY COUNCIL, FEBRUARY 11, 1957 COUNCILMEN PRESENT: Kidd, Tadlock, Humeston, Bacon Byrd. COUNCILMEN ABSENT: None. CITY ATTORNEY: C. Arthur Nisson, Jr. present. Mayor Kidd called the meeting to order at 7:30 P. M. Motion by Councilman Tadlock, seconded by Councilman Humeston, that the minutes be approved as mailed out. Motion carried. COMPLETION OF A letter from City Engineer McBride to the Council was MYRTLE ST., read, stating the R. J. Noble Co., had satisfactorily BY R. J. NOBLE completed the Myrtle Street Improvement and recommended, the work be accepted. On motion by Councilman Byrd, seconded by Councilman Tadlock and duly carried, Engineer McBride's recommenda- tion was approved and payment of the contract price of $5,505.81, less 10% retention was ordered. Motion by Councilman Bacon, seconded by Councilman Byrd, that Verbal permission granted the Orange County Heart Association by the City Clerk, to conduct the 1957 Heart Fund Campaign in the city of Tustin during the month of February be granted. Motion carried. Motion by Councilman Humeston, seconded by Councilman CALIFORNIA Byrd, that the City Attorney be authorized to prepare and ASSEMBLY forward a RESOLUTION to the CALIFORNIA ASSEMBLY supporting RESOLUTION ASSEMBLY BILL NO. 64, banning sale of crime horror "comics" to persons under eighteen years of age. Motion carried. APPROVAL OF Motion by Councilman Byrd, seconded by Councilman Tadlock, FIRE HALL FOR that the Health Department of the County of Orange, be POLIOMYELITIS granted use of the Fire Station to conduct a Community IMMUNIZATION poliomyelitts immunization clinic and that Dr. Russell be so notified.
