MEETING OF THE TUSTIN CITY
COUNCIL, JANUARY 21, 1957.
COUNCILMEN PRESENT: Jerome C. Kidd, W. L. Tadlock,
Vincent L. Humeston, Frank E. Bacon, Jr.
and Lee Byrd.
COUNCILMEN ABSENT: None.
CITY ATTORNEY: C. Arthur Nisson, Jr. present.
Mayor Kidd called the meeting to order at 8:15 P. M.
Motion by Councilman Tadlock, seconded by Councilman
Bacon, that the minutes be approved as mailed out.
Motion carried.
The map and zoning of the "Eastside Annexation" was
studied by the council~as recommended by the Planning
EASTSIDE Commission and upon motion by Councilman Byrd, seconded
ANNEXATION by Councilman Bacon, Carl Becket, Otto Becket and Ross
Shaffer were authorized to proceed with the proposed
"Eastside Annexation" to Tustin, pursuant to the ~Aunexation
Act of 1913. Motion carried.
ORDINANCE Motion by Councilman Bacon, seconded by Councilman Byrd
NO. 106 that Ordinance No. 106 be read in it's entirety, for it's
SECOND second reading. Motion carried.
READING
Motion by Councilman Bacon, seconded by Councilman Humeaton
ADOPTION that the second reading of Ordinance No. 106 be approved
OF NO. 106 and that it be adopted. Motion carried, all councilmen
voting Aye.
Motion by Councilman Byrd, seconded by Councilman Bacon
ORDINANCE that Ordinance No. 107 have it's second reading by title
No. 107, only. Motion carried.
SECOND READ-
ING. Motion by Councilman Humeston, seconded by Councilman
Byrd that Ordinance No. 107 be adopted. Motion carried,
ADOPTION all councilmen voting Aye.

Al Thorman's request for information regarding blacktopping
AL THORMAN a parking lot adjacent to his new building on east Main
REQUEST. Street was referred to City Engineer McBride.
A letter from the Orange County Society for Crippled
Children and Adults, Inc., was read, requesting permission
to sell paper lapel Easter lilies on the streets, April
12th and 13th.
On motion by Councilman Tadlock seconded by Councilman
Humeston and duly carried, the Orange County Society of
Crippled Children and Adults, Inc., were granted permission
to sell lapel Easter lilies on the Tustin streets, April
12th and 13th, 1957.
The purchase of a new Fire Truck was again discussed at
considerable length.
PURCHASE OF On motion by Councilman Bacon, seconded by Councilman "S~agr yes Model 50G-B-1000 Trlpl~
NEW FIRE Humeston that a new "Seagraves Model 500-B-1000 Triple
TRUCK Combination Pumping Engine fire truck be purchase, by
the City of Tustin and the Mayor and City Clerk be em-
powered to execute a contract for same with the Seagrave
Corp., on a 5 year Lease Basis. Motion carried.
Mr. Ames of the John Hancock Mutual Life Insurance Co., of
Boston appeared before the Council with a revised plan of
Group Insurance for City Employees.
JOHN HAN- Motion by Councilman Tadlock, seconded by Councilman Humeston,
COCK LIFE that the Mayor and City Clerk be empowered to contract with
INSURANCE the John Hancock Mutual Life Insurance Co., of Boston, Mass.,
ADOPTED. for Group Life Insurance for City Employees. Motion carried,
Motion by Councilman Bacon, seconded by Councilman Byrd
that the following bill be paid. Motion carried.
BILLS C. Arthur Nisson, Jr., Extra services., Dec. 1956 $300.00
Meeting was duly adjourned.
