HomeMy WebLinkAboutCC MINUTES 1956 12 10 MINUTES OF A REGULAR MEETING OF THE TUSTIN CITY COUNCIL December 10, 1956 COUNCILMEN PRESENT: Jerome C. Kidd, W. L. Tadlock, Vincent L. Humeston, Frank E. Bacon Jr., Lee Byrd. COUNCILMEN ABSENT: None. CITY ATTORNEY: C. Arthur Nisson, Jr. present. Meeting was called to order-by Mayor Kidd at 7:35 P- M. On motion by ~Councilman Tadlock, seconded by Councilman Bacon and duly carried, the minutes of the previous meeting were approved as mailed out. RESOLUTION NO. 407, requestlng the Directors of County Sanitation District No. 7 to make a further study of methods to provide sewer facilities for District No. 7 was adopted by the Council on motion of Councilman Tadlock, seconded by Councilman Bacon. All Councilmen voting Aye. Motion by Councilman Byrd, seconded by Councilman Bacon that the "Camp Fire Girls" be granted permission to sell peanuts as per their written request date November 28, 1956. Motion carried. Motion by Councilman Tadlock, seconded by Councilman Humeston, that City Attorney Nisson communicate with State Senator Murdy concerning legislation to protect existing School Districts, from encroashment by annexation to adjacent cities and also request his opinion, regarding legislation to lower the necessary vote of two thirds majority to a simple majority on a bond issue by a Sanitary District for Sewer Bonds. Motion carried. After some discussion regarding the construction of a side- walk in front of Dr. Knowles Medical Bldg., 320 West First St., the City Clerk was instructed to contact Engineer McBride and see if he would find out when Dr. Knowles intended to complete his sidewalk. It was decided that RESOLUTION N0. 376, changing the location of the stop sign at 6th and B Streets should be recinded. On motion of Councilman Humeston, seconded by Councilman Byrd, RESOLUTION NO. 408, so ordering was adopted. All Councilmen voting Aye. Motion by Councilman Bacon, seconded by Councilman Humeston, that Councilman Lee Byrd be given permission to leave the state until the 10th of January, 1957 or thereabouts. Motion carried.
