MINUTES OF A REGULAR MEETING
OF THE
TUSTIN CITY COUNCIL
Monday Oct. 22, 1956
COUNCILMEN PRESENT: Frank E. Bacon, Jr., W. L. Tadlock,
Vincent L. Humeston and Lee Byrd.
COUNCILMEN ABSENT: Jerome C. Kidd.
CITY ATTORNEY: C. Arthur Nisson, Jr. present.
Mayor Pro Tem, Frank E. Bacon, Jr.
opened the meeting at 7:30 P. M.
It was moved by Councilman Byrd, seconded by Councilman
Humeston, that the Minutes be approved as mailed out. Motion
carried.
City Engineer McBride had before the Council letters stating
that both Project No. 22 and No. 23 had been completed in a
satisfactory manner.
COMPLETION OF Motion by Councilman Humeston, seconded by Councilman Byrd,
PROJECT #22 that the report of City Engineer McBride, that Project No. 22
AND PROJECT the improvement of South D Street., had been completed in a
# 23. satisfactory manner by the R. J. Noble Co., be approved, and
City Attorney Nisson be instructed to prepare a Resolution to
that effect, and that the City of Tustin request reimbursement
REQUEST OF of $1,044.00 as specified in a Resolution of the Board of
REIMBURSEMENT Supervisors of Orange County, dated August 23, 1955. Motion
PROJECT carried.

Motion by Councilman Humeston, seconded by Councilman Byrd,
that Project No. 23, the improvement of South C Street and
COMPLETION OF West 6th Street by the Sully-Miller Contracting Co., as
PROJECT #23, recommended by Engineer McBride, be accepted as completed.
IMPROVEMENT OF Motion carried.
SOUTH C ST.
Motion by Councilman Humeston, seconded by Councilman Tadlock
that the Tustin City Council wishes to express it's
APPRECIATION appreciation to the Santa Ana Building Department for their

A letter from Ray Aunger of the Tustin Hardware Co., was

PARKING. Upon motion by Councilman Tadlock, seconded by Councilman
Humeaton and duly carried, Chief Johansen was authorized to
comply with the above request.
WEST MAIN ST. Motion by Councilman Tadlock, seconded by Councilman Humeston
& CALIFORNIA that the balance of the communication regarding truck travel
STREETS. on West Main street and the condition of California street,
be received and filed. Motion carried.
REQUEST After reading a letter from the Clerk of the Board of Trustees
FOR ANNEX- of the Tustin Union High School District, requesting that
ATION OF the High School property be annexed to the City of Tustin, on
HIGH SCH motion by Councilman Humeaton, seconded by Councilman Byrd,
PROPERTY City Engineer McBride was ordered to prepare the necessary
legal description and maps as a preliminary step to Annexation.
Motion carried.
BID BY GEO. Motion by Councilman Byrd, seconded by Councilman Tadlock
DUNTON FOR that the bid of $1,416.88, after trade in of the 1955 Ford
1957 FORD Mainline Fordor, by Geo. Dunton for a 1957 Ford Custom Fordor,
CUSTOM FORDOR equipped as specified in letter, be accepted. Motion carried.
BE ACCEPTED.
Motion by Councilman Humeston, seconded by Councilman Tadlock'-
that the City Clerk be authorized to take the necessary steps
SPECIAL to take a special census of the City of Tustin. Motion
CENSUS carried.

TUSTIN. Motion by Councilman Humeston, seconded by Councilman
Byrd that the City Engineer McBride prepare maps showing
PREPARATION house numbers, zoning and setbacks within the City of

Motion by Councilman Tadlock, seconded by Councilman ~-~
SECOND READ- Humeaton that Ordinance No. 105, have it's second reading
ING OF ORD. by title only, "An Ordinance of the City of Tustin,
#105, AMEND- amending Ordinance No. 71 and providing procedure for the

requirements for territory annexed to the City of Tustin."
Motion carried.
Motion by Councilman Tadlock seconded by Councilman Humeaton
ADOPTION OF that Ordinance No. 105 be adopted. Motion carried, all
ORD.#105 Councilmen voting Aye.
Motion by Councilman Humeston, seconded by Councilman
NEW LIGHTING Tadlock that the City Clerk be authorized to get new
FOR CITY lighting for the City Clerk's office. Motion carried.

that the bills be paid. Motion carried.

Motion by Councilman Byrd, seconded by Councilman Tadlock
that this meeting be adjourned until Monday, November 5,
1956 at 8:00 P. M. Motion carried.
