SUBJECT: Citizens Request for Parkway Tree Removal
Mrs. Douglas Nehls of 14862 Bridgeport Road has requested the
City remove her parkway tree and replace it with a more suitable
type.
She complains that the tree is very messy, dropping a substance
on the walkway and on parked cars which stains and is very difficult
to remove. Also, the roots are growing above ground in the parkway.
Background:
The tree is a Brazilian Pepper, it is not on the city's approved
list. It is very messy and grows very crooked with a shallow
'root system growing roots above ground causing damage to concrete..
Notifications were handed out to the neighborhood stating Mrs.
Nehls request to have the tree removed and no objections were
received.
Recommendation:
I recommend that the tree be removed by the City as requested
and a more suitable tree chosen by Mrs. Nehls from the City
approved list be plante~ as a replacement tree.

Dear Mr. West:
Per our telephone conversation of Sept. 10th, I am
requesting removal of the :%razilian Pepper tree on
our parkway at 14862 Bridgeport Rd. in Tustin.
This tree has been quite a nuisance for some time
now dropping debris on the street and sidewalk as
well as on any car ~bat happens to be parked thdre.
Ncw, howe"er, it has become a hazard as well as the
roots are growing uo over the Erass level and are
therefore very easy to trip over. Additionally, it
has cracked the curbing and sidewalk.
We would appreciate prompt action on this r.e~uest
as the lower branches appear to be dying and it is
becoming quite unsightly. Thank you.
Sincerely,
M~so'F. Douglas ~ehls
