HomeMy WebLinkAboutCC MINUTES 1956 07 16 MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE TUSTIN CITY COUNCIL HELD ON MONDAY, JULY. 16th, 1956, IN THE CITY HALL COUNCILMEN PRESENT: Kidd, Byrd, Tadlock and Park. COUNCILMEN ABSENT: Councilman Bacon and City Clerk S.C. Penington. CITYATTORNEY: C. Arthur Nisson, Jr. Was present. Mayor Kidd called the meeting to order at 7:50 P.M. Reading of the Minutes of the last meeting was dispensed with until the next regular meeting. The petition for the A. R. Morris Annexation to the City PETITION FOR of Tustin was presented and it was moved by Councilman ANNEXATION OF Byrd, Seconded by Councilman Park that Resolution #391, A. R. MORRIS A RESOLUTION OF INTENTION TO ANNEX TERRITORY PURSUANT TO TERRITORY ANNEXATION OF UNINHABITED TERRITORY ACT OF 1939, MADE AND RESO- describing the territory to be annexed, designating the LUTION NO. 391 name of the annexation and setting the time and place ADOPTED. for hearing protests thereto be adopted. Motion carried unanimously. Motion by Councilman Byrd, seconded by Councilman Park to approve plans and specifications for the improvement IMPROVEMENT of Project #23, and that City Engineer McBride be OF PRDJECT authorized to submit plans and specifications to the #23. department of public works, carried. After some discussion, a motion by Councilman Tadlock, PENINGTON seconded by Councilman Byrd that City Clerk S. C. Penington VACATION be granted two weeks vacation with regular pay. Motion PAY GRANTED. carried unanimously. City Attorney Nisson reported on the court decision, John Prescott versus Building Inspector Dudley Kiser that REQUEST FOR he intended to argue for a new hearing Wednesday, July 18, STATE HOUSTNG 1956. John Prescott and his attorney, Mr. Monroe, were COMMISSIDN TO present and presented their side of the case to the RETAIN JURIS- Council. Various opinions were expressed by members of DICTION OF the audience present, after which a motion, by Councilman PAR QUE Byrd, seconded by Councilman Park, requesting the State SANTIAGO. Division of Housing to retain jurisdiction of Par Que Santiago, 215 S. Prospect Ave., Tustin, California under section 18009 of the Health and Safety Code, in that City Ordinance No. 94 has not been enforced by the Building Inspector with particular reference to section 605 (4)(F) thereof, was carried. Aye votes by Councilman Park, Byrd and Mayor Kidd. Councilman Tadlock did not vote. The Council decided to continue sitting as a board of Equalization until the meeting ofJjuly 23, 1956.
