HomeMy WebLinkAboutCC 5 COOP PERS SVCS 03-01-82OATE: TO: FROM: SUB,~ECT: February 23, 1982 Inter-Com CONSENT CALENDAR William Huston, City Manager Roy Gonzales, Personnel Director Contract Extension - Cooperative Personnel Services RECOMMENDATION That the attached resolution be presented to Council authorizing you to sign a contract extension with Cooperative Personnel Services for provision of testing materials. BACKGROUND The City of Tustin has been utilizing Cooperative Personnel Services under con- tract since March of 1979. Tests utilized have included Police Officer, entry- level, Maintenance Worker, Advanced Clerical Skills and Civil Engineer. DISCUSSION Cooperative Personnel Service provide testing materials which are validated based on Job Content for classifications such as Police Officer and Engineer. We do not have the time or resources to develop equivalent materials. We utilize their services only when the testing requirements exceed our ability to develop suitable materials in a cost effective manner. FINANCIAL IMPLICATIONS ~ None. Funds to cover the cost of testing materials are presently budgeted. RPG/kaf Attachment Resolution ? 10 11 12 14 17 18 19 2O 2~ 22 2~ 27 RESOLUTION NO. 82-17 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TUSTIN, CALIFORNIA, AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE AND SIGN AN AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY OF TUSTIN AND THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA, CALIFORNIA STATE PERSONNEL BOARD, COOPERATIVE PERSONNEL SERVICES. WHEREAS, the California State Personnel Board requires a written resolution and agreement from any agency participating in their Cooperative Personnel Services Program; and WHEREAS, the Personnel Department of the City of Tustin desires periodically to utilize technical and personnel examining services provided by the California State Personnel Board. NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that William Huston, City Manager, is authorized to enter into and sign an agreement with the State of California, California State Personnel Board, Cooperative Personnel Services, for the purposes of performing examination services, when desired, for a maximum duration period of three years.
