HomeMy WebLinkAboutCC MINUTES 1956 03 12 224 MINUTES OF A REGULAR MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF TUSTIN, CALIFORNIA, HELD ON MONDAY EVENING, MARCH 12, 1956, IN THE CITY HALL PRESENT: Kidd, Tadlock, Park, Bacon, Byrd. S. C. Penington being absent, C. Arthur Nisson, City Attorney, acted as Clerk Pro Tom. Upon motion duly made, seconded and carried the min- utes of the regular meeting of Febmary 27, 1956, were ap- proved as mailed.out. City Engineer McBride was present andsreported that he had received the details on an agreement with the State Maintenance Department of!the Division of Highways concern- ing the maintenance of the traffic signal at Main and "D" Streets. Park moved, Byrd seconded, and it was duly carried to authorize the City Engineer to accept the State proposal for maintenance of traffic signals at Main and "D" Streets, Tustin, California. City Engineer McBride reported on major City streets and stated that Sixth Street from "B" Street to "D" Street was approved as a major City street by the Division of Highways. ORDINANCE Ordinance No. 98'came up for second reading and Tadlock NO. 98 moved, Park seconded, that Ordinance No. 98 be read the ADOPTED second time by title only. All members voted Aye. Thereupon Ordinance No. 98 was read by title only. Park moved, Byrd seconded, that Ordinance No. 98 be approved for its second reading and that said Ordinance be adopted. All voted Aye on roll call. RESOLUTION Park moved that Resolution No. 383 be approved. Byrd NO. 383 APPROVED seconded. All members voted Aye. Discussion concerning the recommendation by Planning Commissioner Hardy that a change be made on the Stop Sign intersection at First and "D" Streets so that "D" Street would aIso have a Stop Sign going North. After discussion the concensus of opinion that no change in the traffic con- trol situation at that intersection was warranted. BILLS Bacon moved, Tadlock seconded, that the bills presented be approved and paid. Motion carried. The meeting was duly adjourned. Jerome C. Kidd Mayor Samuel C. Penington City Clerk
