CITY COUNCIL OF TUSTIN, CALIFORNIA,
HELD ON TUESDAY EVENING, FEBRUARY 14
1956, IN THE CITY HALL
COUNCILMEN PRESENT: Jerome C. Kidd, W. L. Tadlock, Frank E.
Bacon, Jr., Lee A Byrd and Arthur O.
Park.
COUNCILMEN ABSENT None
CITY ATTORNEY: Nisson was present.
The meeting was called to order by Mayor Kidd at 7:45
P.M.
Minutes of the previous meeting of January 23rd were
approved as mailed out upon motion of Coumcilman Bacon,
seconded by Park and duly carried.
Marvin Lawrence and Vincent Meeks were present with
sketches and plans of the proposed Tustin War Memorial Build-
ing at First Street and Prospect Avenue. They inquired if the
City would agree to install curb and sidewalks for 150 feet
in front of the building and for 150 feet on Prospect Avenue.
This request was discussed at length. Councilman Park sug-
gested that decision be delayed for further investegation
and consideratlon. .
City Engineer McBride reported on progress of the pro-
posed Pankey and Griset Annexation, displaying maps of same
which were viewed and discussed.
Park Commissioner Bacon opened and read three bids for
trimming and removal, of certain trees within the City. Calif-
ornia Tree Service bid $1,866; Edmey & Needham, $1,453; Ivey
& Thomas, $975. Contract was awarded to low bidders Ivey
Thomas upon motion of Councilman Bacon, seconded by Park and
carried.
Police Chief Johansen reported that 95 Dog Licenses to
date have been issued under the new Rabies Ordinance.
A draft of Ordinance No. 97 relation to the salary and
activities of the City Clerk was presented for first reading.
After discussion and certain changes it was approved upon
motion of Councilman Tadlock, seconded by Byrd and carried
by Roll Call Vote.
William H. Gray and Russell Goetting were present rep-
resenting Tustin Boys Baseball, Inc., formerly Tustin-Irvine
Little League, and told of the proposed activities for this
1956 season, requesting financial assistance from the City.
Councilman Bacon moved for the City to donate $500 for main-
tenance of the ball diamond at Tustin Elementary School.
Seconded by Park the motion duly carried.
The following bills were ordered paid upon motion of
Councilman Park, seconded by Tadlock and carried.

Councilman Park moved to adjourn. Tadlock seconded the
motion. Motion carried.
