HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES 04-05-82Minutes of Regular Meett ng March 15, 1982 The Planning Agency held a regular meeting Monday, March 15, 1982, at 3:00 p.m. in the Council Chambers of the City Hall, 300 Centennial Way, Tustin, California. The meeting was called to order by Chairman Sharp at 3:02 p.m. The Pledge of Allegiance was led by Mr. Hoesterey and the invocation was given by Mr. Edgar. ROLL CALL Present: Sharp, Hoesterey, Edgar, Kennedy, Saltarelli (arrived at 3:10) Absent: None Also present: William Huston, City Manager Michael Brotemarkl e, Co,,,,iunity Development Oi rec tot James Rourke, City Attorney Janet Hester, Recording Secretary MINUTES The minutes of the regular meeting held March 1, 1982, were approved as submitted. PUBLIC HEARINGS: NO ne PUBLIC CONCERNS: Mr. Charles Anderson, 255 W. 6th Street, addressed the Agency concern- ing a parking problem at his residence. He explained that when the clothing store across the street from his home had a sale a serious parking problem resulted. He listed the following conditions: I. many times he can not get in or out of his driveway because of cars parked along his property; 2. because of the proximity of the cars he can not see the street when backing out of his drive; 3. delivery trucks have used his drive as a turn-around point and have caused damage to the concrete; 4. even though there is a four-way stop at the intersection, many times people ignore the sign; 5. the street is dirty and cluttered because the street sweeper can not get through to clean it. Mr. Anderson stated he has spoken to the manager of the store but with no results. The manager told Mr. Anderson that he had 30 employees but only 18 parking spaces. Mr. Anderson asked if there was any action the Agency or staff could take to help alleviate this problem. Chairman Sharp directed staff to look into the situation. Mr. Brotemarkle commented he would coordinate with the Public Works and Police Departments to see what could be done. OLD BUSINESS: Mr. Edgar moved approval of Resolution No. 2024 granting a sign variance to U-Haul of Orange County. The motion was seconded by Mr. Hoesterey.
