PUBLIC CONCERNS:
Mr. Charles Anderson, 255 W. 6th Street, addressed the Agency concern-
ing a parking problem at his residence. He explained that when the
clothing store across the street from his home had a sale a serious
parking problem resulted. He listed the following conditions:
I. many times he can not get in or out of his driveway because of
cars parked along his property;
2. because of the proximity of the cars he can not see the street
when backing out of his drive;
3. delivery trucks have used his drive as a turn-around point and
have caused damage to the concrete;
4. even though there is a four-way stop at the intersection, many
times people ignore the sign;
5. the street is dirty and cluttered because the street sweeper
can not get through to clean it.
Mr. Anderson stated he has spoken to the manager of the store but with
no results. The manager told Mr. Anderson that he had 30 employees
but only 18 parking spaces. Mr. Anderson asked if there was any
action the Agency or staff could take to help alleviate this problem.
Chairman Sharp directed staff to look into the situation.
Mr. Brotemarkle commented he would coordinate with the Public Works
and Police Departments to see what could be done.
