TO: Bill Huston, City Manage
FROM: Royleen A. White, Director of Community Services
SUBJECT: DONATION OF BLEACHERS FOR MAGNOLIA TREE TENNIS COURTS
RECOMMENDATION:
City Council to accept, with thanks, the donation of bleachers for the Magnolia
Tree Park Tennis Courts from the Tustin Tennis Club.
BACKGROUND:
As Council is aware, the Community Services Department has an excellent relationship
with the Tustin Tennis Club. Through a mutual satisfying of needs and a well-
documented agreement, the Tennis Club has use of the courts at certain days and
times and the City receives excellent care and maintenance of the courts from
Club members. Also, from time to time, the Tennis Club has purchased needed
items which are not in the City's budget.
The Tennis Club has suggested that a small set of bleachers is needed for the
tennis courts at Magnolia Tree Park. The City maintenance staff will pour ~the
slab to prepare the area for the bleachers, and the Tustin Tennis Club will
purchase the bleachers and donate them to the City. 'Formal Council approval of
the donation is required. The relationship between the Community Services
Department and the Tennis Club is an excellent one, and this most recent donation
exemplifies it.

Dear Mr. Churchman:
The Tustin Tennis Club would like to thank you for your quick response to our
last letter concerning the bleachers for the tennis courts at Magnolia Tree
Park.
At our last club meeting it was decided that TTC would be willing and able to
pay the $256.~;needed to purchase the necessary materials for the proposed
bleachers at Magnolia Tree Park. The~fore, the club is proposing that it pay
for the materials and that the City of Tustin put in the bleachers.
The club proposes that the city purchase the materials and put the bleachers
J and then bill the Tustin Tennis Club for the $256.00 needed fo~ materials
or we can pay the city before the purchase of materials if necessary.
Please advise us on what the city decides. If the city decides to go along
with our proposal we need to know how it would like the billing to be handled.
Sincerely,.
Jackie Shallahamer
