Dear Mayor Sharp &Mernbers ol= the Council:
Please help us preserve home rule.
As your city representative on the South Coast Air Quality
Management District Board, I am deeply concerned that a
fundamental change has been proposed which would alter the
composition of the Board and minimize its effectiveness.
The attached resolution will acquaint you with the recent attempt
to usurp your authority to appoint members to a Board which has
reduced air pollution in this Basin by one million pounds per day
without damaging the economy.
Help us preserve this responsive agenty from political attack.
Please send a copy of your resolution to your Orange County
delegation in Sacramento, with a copy to me.
Sincerely,
Don R. Roth
