HomeMy WebLinkAboutCC MINUTES 1955 09 26 2.02 MINUTES OF A REGULAR MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF TUSTIN, CALIFORNIA, HELD ON MONDAY EVENING, SEPTEMBER 26, 1955, IN THE CITY HALL. COUNCILMEN PRESENT: Jerome C. Kidd, W. L. Tadlock and Arthur O. Park. COUNCILMEN ABSENT: Frank E. Bacon, Jr,, and John V. Sauers. CITY ATTORNEY: C. Arthur Nisson, Jr., was present. The meeting was called to order by Mayor Kidd at 7:40 P. M. Upon motion of Councilman Park, seconded by Tadlock and duly carried, the Minutes of the previous meeting of September 12, 1955, were approved as mailed out. HUMESTON Mayor Kidd read a letter from the Orange County Mos- APPOINTED quito Abatement District requesting that a successor to TO MOSQUITO the late Chas. E. Morris be appointed to their Board of ABATEMENT Trustees. Upon motion of Councilman Park, seconded by BOARD Tadlock and carried, Vincent L. Humeston was appointed to complete Mr. Morris term which expires on December 31st, 1955. AGREEMENT Mr. John Nelson, Treasurer of the Swayne Co., Inc., IN RE FIRE 15012 Newport Avenue, was present and requested that an DEPT. Agreement be arranged whereby the Tustin Volunteer Fire Department will answer a call to the warehouse of that Company in the event of fire. This request was discussed at length. Upon motion of Councilman Park, seconded by Tadlock and duly carried, City Attorney Nisson was author- ized to prepare an Agreement to that effect. The Swayne Co. agreeing to pay to the City $50.00 for each call answered by the Tustin Fire Department. City Engineer McBride was present and discussed plans for future Street improvement. HANSON & A letter from Hanson & Peterson, Auditors, contain- PETERSON ing proposaIs regarding quarterly fee for their services GRANTED was read by Mayor Kidd. Upon motion by Councilman Tadlock, INCREASED seconded by Park and duly carried, it was agreed that for QUARTERLY the fiscal year of the City accounting, July 1, 1955, to FEE June 30, 1956 Hanson & Peterson are to be paid a quar- terly fee of $115.00. Audits to be made each Quarter dur- ing that period. Council authorized Police Chief Johansen to attend the State wide Civil Defense Meeting to be held in Sacra- mento on October 13,1956 next, if he is in that vicinity while on vacation. A letter from Governor Knight announcing the desig- nationic by President Eisenhower of Thursday, December 1, 1955, as S-D (Safe Driving) Day was read by Mayor Kidd who thereupon appointed Polices Chief Johansen as S.D. Director for Tustin. BILLS The following bills were ordered paid upon motion of Councilman Tadlock, seconded by Park and carried. The Foundation Press $41.20 Fire Chief Lindsay 5.18 Orange County Insurance Agency 967.08 Calif Physicians Service 38.85 TOTAL $1,052.31 The meeting was adjourned upon motion of Council- man Tadlock, seconded by Park and duly carried.
