MINUTES, OF A REGULAR MEETING OF THE
CITY COUNCIL OF TUSTIN, CALIFORNIA,
HELD ON. MONDAY EVENING, AUGUST
1955, IN THE CITY HALL
COUNCILMEN PRESENT: Arthur O. Park, John V. Sauers, Frank
E. Bacon, Jr., and W. L. Tadlock.
COUNCILMEN ABSENT: Jerome C. Kidd.
CITY ATTORNEY: C. Arthur Nisson Jr., was present.
The meeting was called to order by Mayor Pro Tom Park at
7:35 P. M.
Minutes of the previous regular meeting of August 8 were
read and approved as read.
A letter from Orange County League of Cities and a Bulle-
tin from Associated Chambers of Commerce of Orange County
were read by Mayor Pro Tom Park.
MEETING IN Approximately twenty-four persons were present in regard
RE REZONING to the proposed fezcuing by the County of certain prop-
OF NEWPORT erty in the vicinity and comprising the intersections of
AVE. AT First Street, Newport and Holy Avenues and to the action
FIRST, ETC. of the Council at the previous regular meeting of August
8th in adopting Resolution No. 373 entitled "A Resolution
of the City Council of the City of Tustin Recommending
disapproval of the Amendment Proposed (District Map C 91)
to change a Part of Sheet 1, Suburban Section of District
Map C, of Ordinance No. 351, County of Orange" which
Resolution was read to those present by City Attorney
Nisson.
Frank M. LimelI, Attorney for a group of North Tustin
Home Owners spoke at length in regard to the objections
of his clients to the requested M-1 Rezoning of certain
property now occupied in part by two or more Packing
Houses and Tustin Cement Pipe Co. in the above mentioned
location. Mr. Aldrich, Floyd Blower, Robert Stanslow and
others addressed the Council in objection to the proposed
M-1 rezoning.
Carl Young, Cecil Suddaby, Ray Fry, Larry Fricker and
others addressed the Council in favor of the requested
M-I Rezoning.
Mayor Pro Tern Park stated that in his opinion Resolution
No. 373 should be presented to the Orange County Board
of Supervisors as is.
Councilman Tadlock and Sauers both stated that they were
not in favor of the requested M-1 Rezoning for the reason
that the County would be in a better position to keep
under control any condition that may arise in the future.
COUNCIL Walter Rawlingo, Superintendent of Tustin Water Works,
MEETS WITH was present and discussed at length various phases of
WATER SUPT. the existing water situation as applying to the City of
RAWLINGS Tustin, including supply, volume, pressure, future pros-
pects and other matters with the Council, some phases of
which may be taken up at a hearing before the Public
Utilities Commission to be held in Los Angeles on Sep-
tember 7th.
COUNCIL Upon motion of Sauers, seconded by Tadlock and duly car-
RECOMMENDS tied, Council agreed' to recommend to the Tustin planning
CHANGE IN Commission that an adjustment upward be made in the
VARIANCE present $10.00 fee for filing Variances.

The meeting was adjourned upon motion of Sauers, sec-
onded by Bacon and duly carried.
