MINUTES GF A REGULAR MEETING OF THE
TUSTIN CITY COUNCIL HELD ON MONDAY
EVENING JULY 25, 1955, IN THE CITY HALL
COUNCILMEN PRESENT: Arthur O. Park, John V. Sauers, Frank
E. Bacon, Jr., and W. L. Tadlock.
COUNCILMAN ABSENT: Jerome C. Kidd.
CITY ATTORNEY: C. Arthur Nisson, Jr., was absent due
to vacation.
The meeting was called to order by Mayor Pro Tem Park at
7:25 P. M.
PARK APPOINTED Upon motion of Councilman Tadlock, seconded by Bacon and
TEMPORARY duly carried, Mayor Pro Tem Park was appointed a temporary
MEMBER OF member of the Tustin planning Commission replacing Mayor
PLANNING Jerome C. Kidd during his leave of absence.
COMMISSION
Upon motion by Tadlock, seconded by Sauers and carried,
the City Council meeting was adjourned until after the
meeting of the Planning Commission.
Following the meeting of the Planning Commission Mayor
Pro Tem Park again called the Council meeting to order.
Reading of the Minutes of the previous regular meeting
of July 11th were dispensed with and approved as mailed
out upon motion of Tadlock, seconded by Sauers and duly
carried.
ORANGE COUNTY Mayor Pro Tem Park read a letter from City Attorney
INS. AGENCY Nisson in which he stated that forms for bids on Tustin
AWARDED City Liability Insurance had been submitted to five In-
INSURANCE ON surance Agents, that he had received two completed bid
LOW BID forms, that the bid received through Orange County In-
surance Agency is the lowest and recommended that the
Council accept this bid proposal for Insurance. Upon
motion of Bacon, seconded by Sauers and duly carried,
it was agreed to accept the low bid of Orange County
Insurance Agency of $955.26.
A letter from California Department of Public Works was
presented containing "Notice of Intention to Relinquish
1.07 miles of State Highway 101 along First Street, "D"
Street and Laguna Avenue, between the Westerly and East-
erly lines of the City of Tustin, on or after ninety days
from date of receipt of said notice.
SIGNAL OIL Three bids for supplying the City of Tustin with gasoline
CO. AWARDED were opened and read by Mayor Pro Tem Park. Low bidder
GASOLINE for supplying premium gasoline at 22.4 cents per gallon in
CONTRACT ON deliveries for 400 gallons or over during the period com-
LOW BID mencing August 1, 1955, and ending June 30, 1956, was
Signal Oil Company, which bid was accepted, providing
bid is in proper form, on motion of Tadlock, seconded
by Bacon and duly carried.
Upon request of City Engineer McBride the completion
date for the improvement of South "D" Street, Project 22,
by R. J. Noble Co., Contractor, was extended to October
10, 1955, upon motion of Sauers, seconded by Bacon and
carried.
1955-56 The Departmental Budgets for the fiscal year 1955-56
BUDGET were decided upon and fixed as follows:
City Administration . . $12,000.00
Police Department $19,000.00
Street Department 35,350.00
Fire Department 3,000.00
Parks & Playgrounds 2,500.00
TOTAL BUDGET $71,850.00
1955-56 The Tax Rate for the'fiscal year 1955-56 was set at 90cents
TAX RATE per one hundred valuatgion upon motion of Tadlock, seconded
SET AT .90 by Sauers and duly carried.
The follow.ing bills were ordered paid upon motion of
BILLS Tadlock, seconded by Bacon and carried.

Councilman Bacon moved to adjourn. Councilman Sauers
seconded the motion. Motion carried,
