O~ffice of the City Clerk, q ~s~in, California Revised 8/05/81 ,IGR:se:R:8/5/S1 (A) ' S SIGNATURE KOLL KOLL BUSINESS CENTER TO: FILE DATE: March 31, 1982 FROM: CINDY BPJ~DLEY RE: ASSET MANAGER , Damage to Suites A, C & D, 1622 Moulton Parkway Caused by Back-Up'in City Sewer Lines Saturday, March 27, 1982, at approximately 11:00 a.m., tenant, Xoehler- Murray Studios, located at 1622 Moulton Parkway, Suite A, Tustin, CA, entered his unit and saw that his studio was flooded. The water appeared to be coming from neighboring tenant, Crosfield Electronics, 1622 Moulton Parkway, Suites C & D. 11:00 a.m. Tenant contacted Asset Manager of the Koll Tustin Business Center and Crosfield Electronics. Crosfield Electronics' suite was completely flooded. Raw sewage was coming up through the unit's floor drains. The sewage water flowed from Unit C to Unit A. Tustin Fire DeparLment was contacted. Fire trucks No. 21 (Captain Travis) and No. 37 (Captain Bart), pumped water from Units A, C & D. Mike Roman, Roman & Besserman, was contacted--heremoved approximately 164 square yards of computer carpet from Suites C & D.' "Carpet was saturated with sewage. Aabat's Pl~nbing and Heating was contacted. The plumber, Jerry Giabow, arrived at 1:00 p.m~ He cabled the main sewer for industrial building. The plumber cabled three (3) of the building cleanouts to the City sewer. ~e pulled the manhole at Moulton Parkway and saw that the City sewer was holding sewage--the City lines were not draining. Plumber thus informed Manager problem was with the City lines, Orange County Sanitation maintains City of Tustin's sewer lines. 3:00 p.m. Manager and plumber got through to Rory Nelson, Senior Operator, Orange County Sanitation. He was informed of the problem with sewer lines on Moulton Parkway. Nelson sent out Orange County Sanitation truck to investigate the situation. Aabat's plumber observed as County maintenance cleaned du2 LLi ~li~ ii..~ .i~h a jetter. They informed Aabat's plumber 1541 Parkway Loop · Suite C · Tustin · California 92680 · (714)544-4320 Page 2 March 31, 19B2 that grease was causing line to back-up and that the grease was apparently coming fr~m restaurant located on 'the corner of Moulton Parkway and Red Hill Avenue (The Barn). The units needed to be professionally sanitized. Asset Manager attempted to obtain a service on Saturday and Sunday without success. Saturday evening Tenants and Manager scrubbed walls, computers, and mopped floor with bleach. Unit by this time had been aired for several hours. Monday, March 29, 1982 Orange County Disaster Kleenup was contacted to sanitize Units A, C & D. Floor tiles were steamed, floor was treated, mild treatment was injected into walls; two (2) 2'x2' openings were made in drywall at Unit C in order to disinfect that area between Suites C & A. The County Sanitation truck was seen by Crosfield Electronics, Koehler- Murray and Manager working on sewer lines again on Monday, March 29, 1982. © © Costs incurred thus fa~ for 1622 Moulton Parkway, Suites C & D: .
