HomeMy WebLinkAboutCC MINUTES 1955 07 11 MINUTES 0F A REGULAR MEETING OF THE TUSTIN, CALIFORNIA, CITY COUNCIL, HELD ON MONDAY EVENING, JULY 11, 1955, AT 8:05 P.M. IN THE CITY HALL COUNCILMEN PRESENT: Arthur O. Park, Frank E. Bacon, Jr., John V. Sauers and W. L. Tadlock. COUNCILMEN ABSENT: Mayor Jerome C. Kidd due to illness. CITY ATTORNEY: C. Arthur Nisson, Jr., was present. Mayor Kidd being absent, Mayor Protem Park called the meeting to order at 8:05 P. M., immediately following ad- journment of the meeting of the Tustin Planning Commission. Upon motion of Councilman Bacon, seconded by Sauers and duly carried, reading of the Minutes of the previous meet- ing of June 27th was dispensed with and were approved as mailed out. COUNCIL SITS Mayor Pro Tem Park announced that the Council now sat as AS BOARD OF a Board of Equalization. EQUALIZATION A letter from John J. Swigart Co., of Orange, Calif., was read announcing that after August l, 1955, the price of Asphalt Mix, F, 0. B., Orange Plant, will be $2.75 per ton. MAYOR KIDD Mayor Jerome C. Kidd was granted leave of absence until GRANTED LEAVE September l, 1955, and permission to leave the State OF ABSENCE during that time upon motion of Councilman Tadlock, seconded by Bacon and duly carried. City Engineer McBride read a letter from A. S. Koch, Orange County Surveyor and Road Commissioner, in regard to an effort to officially form a Committee to be called the "City-County Cooperative Highway Committee" for the purpose of closer cooperation of County and Cities in regard to Highway or Street Agreements. Upon motion of Councilman Tadlock, seconded by Sauers and carried, it was agreed to adopt the new policy as outlined and City Engineer McBride was appointed to represent Tustin as a member of the Committee.
