BACK~: Subject project enoa¥ioasses miscellaneous improvements at three City parks consisting of the following: COLUMBUS TUSTIN PARK (1) Install prefabricated park shelter (2) Concrete slab construction around bleachers at Field 92 (3) Install drinking fountain at Field ~2 and connect to sanitary sewer (4) Install drainage facilities at Field ~2 CENT~qNIAL PARK (1) Install concrete curbing around play areas with new sand (2) Resurface basketbalI court (3) Misc. concrete MAGNOLIA TREEPARK (1) Install new drinking fountain & connect to sanitary sewer (2) RemOve & replace existing basketball court with new concrete court The Engineer's estimate for this work is $32,400.00. LTANEOUS PARK IMPROVEMENTS. Plans, specifications and proposal forms to be used for bidding on this project can only be obtained by prospective bidders at the office of the City Clerk, Tustin City Hall, 300 Centennial Way, Tustin, California, 92680, upon payment of $5.00 per set, which amount shall be non-refundable. 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 Plans and specifications will be mailed out upon payment of $10.00 per set, which amount shall be non-refundable. In conformance with Section 37931 of the Government Code, all bids shall be presented under sealed cover on the proposal form provided and accompanied by one of the following forms of bidder's security: a. Cash b. Cashier's check made payable to the City of Tustin. c. Certified check made payable to the City of Tustin. d. Bidder's bond executed by an accredited surety insurer, made payable to the City of Tustin. The security shall be in an amount equal to at least ten percent (10% ) of the mnount of the bid. A bid shall not be considered unless one of the forms of bidder's security is enclosed therewith. A Security Bond for payment of labor and materials will be required in the 8~ount of fifty percent (50%) of the estimated total contract price and a Faithful Performance Bond in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the estimated total contract price in the form attached to the contract documents. Said bonds shall be issued by a Surety Company rated grade A or better and Class IX or better by the latest edition of Best's Key Rating Guide. City of Tustin reserves the right to reject any or all bids, and/or waive any informality on a bid. No bidder may withdraw his bid for a period of thirty (30) days after the date set for the opening thereof. The contract will be awarded to the lowest qualified bidder. Provisions of the State Contract Act are not applicable, and prospective bidders will not be required to be prequalified. 24 Ail work to be done under the direct supervision of the City Engineer, City of Tustin. 25 All work to be paid for at the unit prices bid frcm appropriated monies. 26 Pursuant to California Government Code Section 4590, the Contractor will 27 be entitled to post approved securities with the City or an approved financial institution in order to have the City release funds retained by the City to 28 insure performance of the contract. A-3 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 The City Council of the City of Tustin has obtained from the Director of Industrial Relations the general prevailing rate of per diem wages and the general prevailing rate for legal holiday and overtime work in the locality in which the work is to be performed for each craft or type of work ncc~ed and a copy of the same is on file in the office of the City Clerk. Not less than said prevailing rates shall be paid to workers employed on this public works contract as required by Labor Code Sections 1771 and 1774 of the State of California.
