NORTHWESTERLY CORNER OF NEWPORT AND MITCHELL AVENUES
RECOMMENDATION:
That the Tustin City Council, at their meeting of June 21, 1982, authorize the
Mayor to execute the quitclaim deed relinquishing the City's rights to the excess
property at the northwesterly corner of Newport and Mitchell Avenues.
BACKGROUND:
The northwesterly corner of Newport and Mitchell Avenues is currently in progress
of being developed as a doctor's office. When this corner improved originally
within the County, the road dedication along Newport Avenue included a triangular
shaped dedication for the curb return/sidewalk construction.
A portion (cross-hatched area) of this previous dedication is no longer needed
because the back edge of sidewalk was constructed on a radius rather than a
straight line.
DISCUSSION:
The attached quitclaim deed provides the instrument for relinquishing this excess
street right-of-way to the adjacent property owners. This excess portion of
property to be quitclaimed is as shown on the attached sketch as the cross-hatched
portion and contains more or less 110 square feet.

records of said Orange County, and bounded on the south by the arc of a curve concave
northerly and having a radius of 27.00 feet, said curve being tangent to a line
parallel to and 50.00 feet northwesterly of, as measured at right angles to, the
existing centerline of Newport Avenue and also tangent to a line parallel to and
28.00 feet northeasterly of, as measured at right angles to, the existing centerline
of Mitchell Avenue.
All as more particularly shown on the map attached hereto and made a part hereof.
