THE CITY OF TUSTIN,
CALIFORNIA, COMMENDING AND EXPRESSING APPRECIATION TO
FP~NCIS OSCAR OSTRANDER FOR ~3TSTANDING SERVICE AND ACTION
AS A CROSSING GUARD

WHEREAS, Francis Oscar Ostrander has served the City of T~stin as
8 a school crossing guard since September of 1980; and
7 WHEREAS, in that capacity, Mr. Ostrander has provided invaluable
service to the children of Tustin is assuring their safety while going to
8 and from school; and
9 WHEREAS, on May 14, 1982, Mr. Ostrander showed exemplary alertness
and took prompt action which undoubtedly saved the life of a young Beswick
10 School student; and
11 WHEREAS, Mr. Ostrander
physical injury in pulling said
12 vehicle,
disregarded his own safety and possible

NOW, THEREFORE, RE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City
13
of Tustin hereby recognizes and commends Mr.
14 service and meritorious action which are
crossing guards and Tustin employees; and

Ostrander for his outstanding
in the highest tradition of
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Council expresses its
18 appreciation for the alertness of Mr. Ostrander in saving a student's life
at risk to his own.

City of Tustin, California, on July 6, 1982.
