'81-'82 HANDICAPPED RAMP CONSTRUCTION PROGRAM
RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the City Council, at their meeting of July 6, 1982, award
the contract for subject project to Nobest Incorporated of Westminster, CA, in the
amount of $7,098.00 and authorize staff to add additional work to the contract to
utilize all of the funds available for handicapped ramp construction.
BACKGROUND:
Subject project encompasses construction of 19 wheelchair ramps at various
locations. The majority of the locations (15) are on First Street between "C" and
Fashion Lane. In addition, four ramps will be constructed at the intersection of
Red Hill and Sycamore in response to a request from a parent of a child attending
Thorman Elementary School.
Sealed bids for subject project were opened on June 29, 1982 at 9:00 AM and were
received as follows:

The low bid is 15% below the Engineer's estimate of $8,369.00. There is presently
