CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TUSTIN,
CALIFORNIA, HELD ON MONDAY EVENING,
JANUARY 10, 1955, AT 7:30. P. M., AT
THE CITY HALL
COUNCILMEN PRESENT: JEROME C. KIDD, W. L. TADLOCK, ARTHUR O.
PARK, FRANK E. BACON,. JR., AND JOHN V.
SAUERS.
COUNCILMEN ABSENT: NONE
CITY ATTORNEY: C. ARTHUR NISSON~ JR., WAS PRESENT.
At 7:00 o'clock P. M. Mayor Kidd called to order a Public
Hearing relative to John A. Prescott's request for M-1
zoning for a part of Tract No. 555 recently annexed to
the City of Tustln.
City Attorney Nisson presented and read a Resolution of
the Tustin Planning Commission which recommends M-1
Zoning for the South 450 feet of "Prescott's Annexation
to the City of Tustin and that the remaining or North
portion be zoned C-1.
A petition containing twelve signatures objecting to
the requested M-1 zoning of the above tract was again
presented and read by Attorney Nisson.
John Prescott was present and stated that the actual
length of the property in question is 570 feet on the
East line instead of 550 feet as previously erroneously
stated to the Planning Commission.
Mayor Kidd stated that as there are no further objec-
tions he declared the hearing closed.
At 7:30 P. M. a regular meeting of the Tustin City Coun-
cil was called to order by Mayor Kidd.
City Attorney Nisson presented and read Ordinance No.
91 entitled "An Ordinance Amending Ordinance No. 71
Zoning "Prescott,s annexation to the City of Tustin."
Upon motion of Councilman Park, seconded by Councilman
Sauers and duly carried, Ordinance No. 91 was passed
for first reading.
Mayor Kidd presented a letter from Auditors Hanson &
Peterson requesting authorization to transfer, due to
a request from the Controller of the State of Calif-
ornia, the sum of $14.40 from the Traffic Safety Fund
to the Special Gas Tax Street Improvement Fund. Request
granted upon motion of Councilman Tadlock, seconded
by Councilman Sauers and carried.
Mayor Kidd read a letter from the publication Tell'N'It
To The Marines requesting a welcome home message from
the City to the returning First Marine Division. The
Clerk was instructed to prepare a message from the
Mayor to sign after his approval of the same.
A letter from the Associated Chambers of Commerce of
Orange County was presented by Mayor Kidd requesting
the appointment of two persons to serve on an Overall
County Committee for the purpose of tracting Orange
County before the 1960 census. Mayor Kidd announced
the appointment of City Engineer McBride and City
Attorney Nisson for this purpose.
The position of Street Department Truck Driver at
$275.00 per month and a Helper at $267.50 per month were
created upon motion of Councilman Park, seconded by Coun-
cilman Sauers and duly carried.

by Councilman Park and carried.

The meeting was adjourned upon motion of Councilman
