REQUEST FOR SIGNING
RECOMMENDATION:
That the Tustin Community Redevelopment Agency authorize the installation of the
"Tustin Area Museum" double-faced sign in the amount of $2,000.00 and authorize
staff to execute a Contract Change Order to accomplish the same.
BACKGROUND:
Staff has received a request from representatives of the Tustin Area Museum for
the installation of a sign adjacent the curb and in front of the museum located at
379 E1Camino Real.
DISCUSSION:
The requested sign would be of the same height and configuration as those being
installed with the E1Camino Real/Main St. improvement project. A drawing of the
requested sign and post is attached for your information.
The requested lettering would read "Tustin Area Museum," as indicated on the
attached drawing and the sign would be located 4.0 feet back of curb and in front
of the museum between the two existing Ficus trees.
The unit bid price for the sign post and sign, including graphics on both sides,
is $2,000.00. Due to the Tustin Area Museum being a non-profit organization and
the public benefits derived from its existence, it is suggested that the Tustin
Community Redevelopment Agency fund the installation of said sign. If authorized
by the Redevelopment Agency, this sign could be added to the E1 Camino Real/Main
Street Improvement Project as a Contract Change Order.
