REQUEST FOR RESTRICTED PARKING AT 345 AND 350 PASADENA AVENUE
RECOMMENDATION
That the Tustin City Council, at their meeting of July 19, 1982, authorize the
installation of signing to restrict on-street parking during street sweeping
hours, 6:00 AM to Noon on Wednesdays on the Pasadena Avenue cul-de-sac adjacent to
345 and 350 Pasadena Avenue. It is also recommended that warnings be issued in
lieu of citations for the first 30 days after the sign installation.
BACKGROUND
A request for restricted parking during street sweeping operations along the
Pasadena Avenue cul-de-sac northerly of Main Street has been received from Mr.
Glenn Sissel of 345 Pasadena Avenue and Mr. Charles Snow, Manager of the Tres
Cincuenta Apts. at 350 Pasadena Avenue. The request for this parking prohibition
encompasses the areas within the Pasadena Avenue cul-de-sac adjacent to their
respective properties.
This parking restriction will provide an unobstructed length of curb for the
street sweeping operation. The street grades within this area are of a very flat
gradient and traditionally pond water when debris accumulates within the streets.
The suggested signing for this street would read as follows:
NO P/~RKING
6:00 RM TO NOON

Dear Mr. Snow:
In response to your recent letter requesting restricted parking on the Pasadena
Avenue cul-de-sac during street sweeping operations, staff has recommended to the.
City Council that the cul-de-sac be posted for "No Parking, 6:00 A&4 to Noon,
Wednesdays for street sweeping.
This item will be on the City Council agenda for their meeting of July 19, 1982.
Your attendance is welcomed at this meeting, which commences at 3:00 PM at the
Council Chambers. A copy of the staff report is attached for your information.
Your second concern pertained to the earthen drainage ditch.that runs between the
Pasadena Avenue cul-de-sac and the Costa Mesa Freeway just northerly of Main
Street. Staff has recommended that funding be included within the i982-83 Capital
Improvement Budget to provide for the installation of an underground conduit to
replace the open earthen ditch. This project should eliminate both the mosquitoe
and odor problem as described. At the present time, the City Council is still
reviewing the 1982-83 Budget. Your concerns.regarding the storm drain
installation will be forwarded to them for their final consideration.
there are any additional questions you may have, please call me at any time.
Very truly yours,
E[
