HomeMy WebLinkAboutCC 3 RESTRICTED PKNG 07-19-82DATE: JULY 7, 1982 CONSENT CALENDAR No. 3 7-19-82 Inter-Corn TO: FROM: SUBJECT: WILLIAM HUSTON, CITY MANAGER BOB LEDENDECKER, DIRECTOR OF PUBLIC WORKS/CITY ENGINEER REQUEST FOR RESTRICTED PARKING AT 345 AND 350 PASADENA AVENUE RECOMMENDATION That the Tustin City Council, at their meeting of July 19, 1982, authorize the installation of signing to restrict on-street parking during street sweeping hours, 6:00 AM to Noon on Wednesdays on the Pasadena Avenue cul-de-sac adjacent to 345 and 350 Pasadena Avenue. It is also recommended that warnings be issued in lieu of citations for the first 30 days after the sign installation. BACKGROUND A request for restricted parking during street sweeping operations along the Pasadena Avenue cul-de-sac northerly of Main Street has been received from Mr. Glenn Sissel of 345 Pasadena Avenue and Mr. Charles Snow, Manager of the Tres Cincuenta Apts. at 350 Pasadena Avenue. The request for this parking prohibition encompasses the areas within the Pasadena Avenue cul-de-sac adjacent to their respective properties. This parking restriction will provide an unobstructed length of curb for the street sweeping operation. The street grades within this area are of a very flat gradient and traditionally pond water when debris accumulates within the streets. Snow Manager of the Tres Cincuenta Apts. 350 Pasadena Avenue Tustin~ CA 92680 Dear Mr. Snow: In response to your recent letter requesting restricted parking on the Pasadena Avenue cul-de-sac during street sweeping operations, staff has recommended to the. City Council that the cul-de-sac be posted for "No Parking, 6:00 A&4 to Noon, Wednesdays for street sweeping. This item will be on the City Council agenda for their meeting of July 19, 1982. Your attendance is welcomed at this meeting, which commences at 3:00 PM at the Council Chambers. A copy of the staff report is attached for your information. Your second concern pertained to the earthen drainage ditch.that runs between the Pasadena Avenue cul-de-sac and the Costa Mesa Freeway just northerly of Main Street. Staff has recommended that funding be included within the i982-83 Capital Improvement Budget to provide for the installation of an underground conduit to replace the open earthen ditch. This project should eliminate both the mosquitoe and odor problem as described. At the present time, the City Council is still reviewing the 1982-83 Budget.
