HomeMy WebLinkAboutNB 3 PUBLIC HEARINGS 08-02-82DATE: August 2, 1982 NEW BUSINESS NO. 3 Inter-Corn FROM: SUBJECT: Honorable Chairman & Planning Agency Members Community Development Department September 7, 1982 Public Hearings SIGN COOE BACKGROUNO & DISCUSSION Over the past few months, Planning staff has been working with service station owners/managers to propose an amendment to the sign code' which would include a new section specifically relating to service stations. At the present time, the Code states that signs at service stations are by use permit. Therefore, every station has different signing. The majority of the owners/managers have related to the staff their interest in gaining an equitable code which would be the same for all stations. Also, this amendment would include a recent state law which regulates price signs. RECOI, I~ENDEO ACTION Direct staff to advertise a public hearing for the Planning Agency meeting at 7:30 p.m., September 7, 1982, to consider an amendment to the City of Tustin Sign Code. ZONE CHANGES BACKGROUNO & DISCUSSION In the past year, two separate General Plan amendments have been approved by the City Council: 1. Stevens Square (Gfeller Development) 220 W. Main Street from Multiple-Family to Professional 2. Warden Property 17331 McFadden from Multiple-Family to Commercial Chairman & Planning Agency August 2, 1982 Page 2 It would now be appropriate to change the zoning of these properties to reflect conformance with' the General Plan. RE:COIIIEIIIDI~D ACTION Direct staff to advertise public hearings for the Planning Agency meeting of 3:00 p.m. September 7, 1982 to consider zone changes which would bring the zoning into conformance with the General Plan.
