Call,NO ~ The staff report was given by Bob Ledendecker, City Engineer, as contained in his re~ort dated July 9, 1982. 5e It was moved by Eoesterey, seconded by Saltarelli, to authorize the installation of the "Tustin Area Muse,--" double-faced sign in the amount of $2,000.00 and staff to execute a Contract Change Order to the E1 Camino Real/Main Street Improvement Project to accomplish the same. Carried 5-0. 93 BOb Ledendecker, City Engineer, pointed out that pictures of the Western Redbud tree had been circulated to the Council but staff was unable to obtain any pictures of the tree in bloom. Councilman Saltarelli said that after looking at the tree, it was a scrawny looking tree and he would not be in favor of taking down nice trees for these trees. It was moved by Greinke, seconded by Kennedy, to authorize the planting of the Western Redbud tree at the northerly and southerly ends of E1 C~mino Real as designed by the consultant landscape architect and that staff plant the largest trees possible. Councilman Hoesterey said he would prefer evergreens but would vote in favor of the motion. Motion carried 4~1, Saltarelli opposed. 95 The staff report was given by Bob Ledendecker, City Engineer. The total recommended contract award amount is $1,201,141.50, which deletes Bid Item No. 83 which is a cast iron street clock without chimes. It was moved by Greinke, seconded by Kennedy, to award the contract for subjec~ project to R. J. Noble Co., Inc., of Orange, CA, in the amount of $1,201,141.50. REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY MINUTES Page 2, 7- 19-82 In response to Mayor Edgar, ~he City Engineer said that the job should be completed 130 calendar days after the contract is signed. Motion carried 5-0. Mayor Pro Tem ~ennedy asked about ~he use of metal trenches in the streets when work is in progress. 95 plates to cover The City Engineer responded that metal plates are used on open trenches that need to be left open for a few days. The trench referred to was dug by Communi¢omo ADO~T - It was moved by Greinke, seconded by Hoesterey, to adjourn at 4:13 P.M. to the next regular meeting on August 2, 1982. Carried 5-0. MAYOR
