HomeMy WebLinkAboutCC MINUTES 1954 09 27 MINUTES OF A REGULAR MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TUSTIN, HELD ON MONDAY EVENING, SEPTEMBER 27, 1954, AT 7:30 P. M., AT THE CITY HALL COUNCILMEN PRESENT: Arthur O. Park, John V. Sauers, Frank E. Bacon, Jr. and W. L. Tadlock. COUNCILMEN ABSENT: Jerome C. Kidd. CITY ATTORNEY: C. Arthur Nisson, Jr., was present. Mayor Pro Tom Arthur O. Park called the meeting to order at 7:30 P. M. Minutes of the meeting of September 13 were read and ap- proved. CHANGE IN A letter from the Pacific Telephone and Telegraph Co., TELEPHONE relative to a change in telephone rates was presented, RATES discussed and ordered received and filed upon motion of Councilmm Tadlock, seconded by Councilman Sauers and duly carried. WOODILL A letter from B. R. Woodill offering his resignation as RESIGNATION Director of Civilian Defense for the Tustin area was pro- OFFERED sented and discussed. No action was taken by the Council pending the return of Mayor Kidd. BACON TO Councilman Frank E. Bacon, Jr., requested and was granted BE ABSENT permission to be absent from the State from October 8th FROM STATE to November 1st, upon motion of Councilman Tadlock, sec- onded by Councilman Sauers and carried. Councilman Bacon reported that after an examination of the request for the removal of two trees in front of 215 "D" Street he can find no reason why the City should re- move same. Upon motion of Councilman Bacon, seconded by Councilman Sauers and duly carried, it was agreed that no action be taken at this time. RESOLUTION City Attorney Nisson presented Resolution No. 360 en- NO 360 titled "A Resolution of the City of Tustin Fixing and ADOPTED Determining the Number of Cents on Each One Hundred Dollars ($100.00) of the Assessed Valuation of the Tax- able Property Within the City of Tustin to be Levied and Collected as a Revenue to Pay the General Running Expenses of said City during the Fiscal Year 1954-55" which was adopted on motion of Councilmm Bacon, sec- onded by Councilman Tadlock and duly carried. RESOLUTION Resolution No. 361 was presented entitled "A Resolu- NO 361 tion of the City Council of the City of Tustin Fixing ADOPTED and Determining Salaries for City Officials and City Employees Effective October 1, 1954" which was adopted on motion of Councilmm Bacon, seconded by Councilman Sauers and duly carried. The following bills were presented, approved and or- dered paid upon motion of Councilman Tadlock, seconded BILLS by Councilman Sauers and carried.
