REQUEST FOR PARKING PROHIBITION ON LORETTA DRIVE
RECOMMENDATION:
That the Tustin City Council, at their meeting of August 16, 1982, authorize the
installation of signing to restrict on-street parking on both sides of Loretta
Drive between Santa Clara Ave. and 100' feet southerly of Laurie Lane. It is also
recommended that warnings be issued in lieu of citations for the first 30 days
after the sign installation.
BACKGROUND:
Staff has received a petition (copy attached) from the residents of Loretta Drive
to restrict on-street parking along the frontages of their residences during
street sweeping operations.
DISCUSSION:
Over the past 2 1/2 years, Council has approved several other similar requests
throughout the City which have been working very satisfactorily.
This request consists of that portion of Loretta Drive (both sides) between Santa
Clara Ave. and 100, feet southerly of Laurie Lane. Within this portion of Loretta
Drive, there are 28 properties that either front on Loretta Drive or that have
their side yards adjacent to the street. Following is a recap of the attached
petition:
21 parcels desire restrictive parking during the
hours of street sweeping operations.
1 parcel opposes restrictive parking during the
hours of street sweeping operations.
6 parcels were not contacted or did not sign the
petition.
The suggested signing for this area would read as follows:
NO PARKING
6:00 AM TO NOON
