CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TUSTIN,
CALIFORNIA, HELD ON MONDAY EVENING,
JULY 26, 1954, AT 7:35 P. M., AT THE
CITY HALL
COUNCILMEN PRESENT: Jerome C. Kidd. W. L. Tadlock, Frank
E. Bacon, Jr., and Arthur O. Park.
COUNCILMEN ABSENT: John V. Sauers
CITY ATTORNEY: C. Arthur Nisson, Jr., was present.
The meeting was called to order by Mayor Kidd at 7:35
P. M.
Minutes of theprevious meeting were read and approved.
Mayor Kidd presented and read a letter from Mrs. Jack
McClure, P. T. A. Health Chairman, .Tustin, thanking
the City for financial assistance relative to their
Annual Summer Swim Program.
Mayor Kidd read a letter from the Orange County Civil
Defense and Relief Council in which Tustin is requested
to place any future requests for Marine Corps Assis-
tance through the office of Civil Defense. The City
Clerk was instructed to reply to this communication
agreeing to the above request.
EMPLOYEES Mayor Ktdd present~ a schedule of costs of Medical
HOSPITALIZATION Care and Hospitalization for a group of five or more
INSURANCE Tustin City Employees as submitted by Blue Cross and
PROPOSED California Physicians Service. The matter was dis-
cussed at length. Councilman Park suggested that the
action of other cities in a like situation be inves-
tigated. He offered to do so through Secretary Wm. C.
Jerome, of the Orange County League of Cities, and to
report at the next meeting.
1954-55 BUDGET The Budget for 1954-55 was discussed and the total
SET AT amount required of $70,000 was arrived at.

Resolution No. 359 was introduced entitled "A Reso-
RESOLUTION lution of the City Council of the City of Tustin
NO. 359 Fixing and Determining the Amount of Money Necessary
to be Raised by Taxation Upon the Taxable Property
within the City of Tustin and Revenue to Carry On
the Various Departments of said City for the Fiscal
Year 1954-55." Upon motion of Councilman Park, sec-
onded by Councilman Tadlock and duly carried, Reso-
lution No. 359 was adopted.
1954-55 TAX After discussion Council authorized the Tax Rate for
RATE SET AT the fiscal year 1954-55 to be set at 90 cents per hundred
.90 PER valuation.
HUNDRED
Dr. and Mrs. H. Leon Jones were present and requested
a rebate on his Business License Fee of $10.00 paid
on July 1 for the second half of 1954. The matter was
referred to City Attorney Nisson who ruled that due
to the fact that the License could have been paid
Quarterly the sum of $5.00 is returnable.
A letter was presented from the Pacific Indemnity Co.
requesting exenoration of their Franchise Bond No.
80045 issued on January 15, 1934, on behalf of the
Southern California Edison Co., covering Ordinance
No. 38. They further stated that the Edison Co. was
granted a new Franchise by Tustin City Ordinance No.
76 covered by their Bond No. 201330. Upon motion of
Councilman Park, seconded by Councilman Bacon and duly
carried, the request was granted providing the new Fran-
chise is protected by a new Bond as claimed.
BILLS Upon motion of Councilman Tadlock, seconded by Council-
man Park and carried, the following bills were approved
and ordered paid.

Councilman Tadlock moved to adjourn. Councilman Bacon
seconded the motion. Motion carried.
