MINUTES OF A REGULAR MEETING OF THE
CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TUSTIN,
CALIFORNIA, HELD ON MONDAY EVENING,
JULY 12, 1954, AT 7:30 P.M., AT THE
CITY HALL
COUNCILMEN PRESENT: Jerome C. Kidd, Arthur O. Park, W. L.
Tadlock and Frank E. Bacon,
COUNCILMEN ABSENT: John V. Sauers
CITY ATTORNEY: C. Arthur Ntsson, Jr., was present.
Mayor Kidd called the meeting to order at 7:30 P. M.
Minutes of the meeting of June 28 were read and ap-
proved after Paragraph 5 was deleted relative to a
conversation of Mayor Kidd with Cuba Morris of the
Orange County Civil Defense Setup.
A communication from John A. Prescott was presented
and read by Mayor Kidd in which Mr. Prescott requests
that his petition for annexation of a portion of the
South Tustin Tract to the City of Tustin be tabled
until further notice.
$1,044.00 A letter from the Orange County League of Cities was
GAS TAX FUNDS presented in which Tustin' s share of the Gas Tax al-
ALLOCATED TO located by the Orange County Board of. Supervisors is
TUSTIN BY listed as $1,044.00 and on which City Engineer McBride
SUPERVISORS has noted his recommendation that this money be used
to improve "B" Street, from Sixth Street to Frontage
Road, the work to be performed by the County Road
Department Crew.
A communication from the Highway Department of Orange
County was presented which verifies that Tustin' s al-
location in regard to the above is in the sum of
$1,044.00.
An announcement in regard to the 56th Annual Confer-
ence of the League of California Cities to be held in
Los Angeles, October 17-20, 1954, at the Biltmore
Hotel, was presented by Mayor Kidd and discussed by
the Council.
COUNCIL Mayor Kidd announced that the City Council is now
SITTING AS sitting as a Board of Equalization and asked if anyone
BOARD OF present had any request in regard to equalization of
EQUALIZATION assessment. There was no reply.
Police Chief Johansen's request that he be granted
two weeks pay in lieu of two weeks unused vacation was
presented by Mayor Kidd and agreed to by the Council.
AUDITOR'S Copies of Hanson & Peterson's Audit Report for the
REPORT fiscal year 1953-54 were presented to each member of
PRESENTED the Council.
The Budget for the coming Fiscal Year was mentioned
and briefly discussed.
Chief of Police Johansen requested and was granted
permission to purchase suitable files for Police De-
partment Investigation Records.
BILLS The following bills were presented, approved and or-
dered paid upon motion of Councilman Park, seconded
by Councilman Bacon and duly carried.

1954-55 TAX Upon motion of Councilman Tadlock, seconded by Council-
ROLES man Park and carried it was ordered that Ithe 1954-55
EQUALIZED Tax Rolls be equalized as assessed.
The meeting was adjourned upon motion of Councilman
Bacon, seconded by Councilman-Tadlock and duly car-
