BACKGROUND & DISCUSSION
On April 7, 1980, the Planning Agency approved a use permit (No. 80-8) for
a freeway identification sign of 480 square feet for the Elizabeth Howard's
Curtain Call Dinner Theatre. The sign was never installed and consequently
the use permit expired. The applicant is now requesting another freeway
identification sign of much the same character only the size is 22¢ square
feet smaller. All conditions of approval are listed in the enclosed
Resolution No. 2054.

RESOLUTION NO. 2054
A RESOLUTION OF THE PLANNING AGENCY OF THE
CITY OF TUSTIN, APPROVING USE PERMIT 82-23
AUTHORIZING A FREEWAY IDENTIFICATION SIGN-
FOR 690 EL CAMINO REAL
The Planning Agency of the City of Tustin does hereby resolve as
follows:
I. The Planning Agency finds and determines as follows:
A. That a proper application (Use Permit 82-23) was
filed on by Elizabeth Howard on behalf of Elizabeth
Howard's Curtain Call Dinner Theatre to authorize a
freeway identification sign at 690 E1Camino Real.
B. That a public hearing was duly called, noticed and
held on said application.
C. That establishment, maintenance and operation of the
use applied for will not, under the circumstances of
this case, be detrimental to the health, safety, morals,
comfort or general welfare of the persons residing or
working in the neighborhood of such proposed use,
evidenced by the following findings:
1. The sign, as proposed, is in conformance with the
City of Tustin Sign Ordinance No. 684.
2. The sign will be compatible with the Master Sign Plan
for E1Camino Plaza.
D. That the establishment, maintenance and operation of
the use applied for will not be injurious or detrimental
to the property and improvements in the neighborhood of
the subject project, nor to the general welfare of the
city of Tustin, and should be granted.
E. Proposed development shall be in accordance with the
development policies adopted by the City Council;
Uniform Building Codes as administered by the Building
Official; Fire Code as administered by the Orange County
Fire Marshal; and street improvement requirements as
administered by the City Engineer.
G. That this project is categorically exempt from the
requirements of the California Environmental Quality
Act.
F. Final development plans shall require the review and
approval of the Community Development Director.

II.
The Planning Agency hereby approves Use Permit No. 82-23
as applied for, to allow a freeway identification sign
for Elizabeth Howard's Curtain Call Dinner Theatre
located at 690 E1Camino Real, as applied for, subject
to the following conditions:
All construction documents shall comply with all
applicable City building regulations and the Sign
Code No. 684. A string of open light bulbs shall not
be permitted.
Be
No illuminated sign shall have an intensity of light
exceeding 425 MA soft cool white lamps of not less
than 10 inches on centers.
C. The sign shall not exceed a total of 256 square feet.
D. The sign proposal should conform to the Master Sign
Plan for E1Camino Plaza.
Prior to permit issuance, a written statement by the
owner of E1 Camino Plaza will be required indicating
that no other signs shall be allowed on the entire
rear wall. This Use Permit shall be valid only for
the use as proposed (Use Permit 78-21).
PASSED AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the Tustin Planning
Agency held on the day of , 1982.
