MINUTES OF THE REGULARLY ADJOURNED MEETING OF
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TUSTIN ON
APRIL 20, 1954.
COUNCILMEN PRESENT: Bacon, Kidd, Tadlock, Park, Humeston.
Also present Councilman Elect John V.
Sauers,
COUNCILMEN ABSENT: None.
CITY ATTORNEY: C. Arthur Nisson, Jr., was present.
C. Arthur Nisson, Jr., City Attorney was requested to
act as Clerk for the Council with the absence of the
City Clerk, Samuel C. Penington.
Minutes of the meeting of April 17, 1954 were read and
approved.
Correspondence included a letter received from the Board
of Supervisors giving notice of the granting of the re-
quest concerning the Tustin Lighting District.
Old Business: Discussion concerning police officers'
salaries was by acclamation deferred until next meet-
ing for further report from Commissioner Kidd.
New Business: The canvass of the votes of the general
municipal election held on April 13, 1954 was had and
the adoption of Resolution No. 354 canvassing the re-
sults of the municipal election was moved by Park,
seconded by Bacon, and duty carried, all members present
voting "aye".
Mayor Humeston then swore in Councilman Elect John V.
Sauers and Jerome C. Kidd, whereupon C. Arthur Nisson,
Jr. acting as Clerk of the Council, conducted the meet-
ing and called for nominations for the office of Mayor.
Jerome C. Kidd was duly nominated for the office of mayor.
Councilman Tadlock moved that the nominations be closed,
Park seconded, and the motion was duly carried. On call ,
for votes all members present voted "aye" for Kidd as Mayor.
Jerome C. Kidd assumed the office of Mayor of the City of
Tustin.
Councilman Bacon moved, Park seconded, that Resolution
No. 355 appointing officials and employees to the City of
Tustin, to wit: Chief of Police, License Tax Collector,
Street Superintendant, City Engineer, Treasurer, Attorney,
Clerk of the Planning Commission and Assessor, and fixing
the salaries and compensation therefor, be approved. Roll
call vote all members present voted "aye".
Upon motion duly made by Councilman Park, seconded by
Councilman Sauers, it was moved that Wintford L. Tadlock
be appointed to act as Alternate to Mayor Kidd on County
Sanitation District No. 7 of Orange County, Tadlock to
serve as Alternate to Mayor Kidd when Mayor Kidd is unable
to act as a member of said Board of Directors of District
No. 7.
There being no further business to come before the Council,
Park moved to adjourn, Bacon seconded, and the meeting was
duly adjourned.
