HomeMy WebLinkAboutCC MINUTES 1954 02 23 I3 'l MINUTES OF A REGULAR MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TUSTIN, CALIFORNIA, HELD ON TUESDAY EVENING, FEBRUARY 23, 1954, AT 7:30 P. M., AT THE CITY HALL The meeting was called to order by Mayor Humeston and C. Arthur Nisson, Jr., was requested to act as clerk in the absence of'the City Clerk, Samuel C. Penington. There were present at the meeting Mayor Humeston, Coun- cilmen Kidd, Tadlock and Park. The Minutes of the meeting of February 8, 1954, were read and approved Larry Fricker was present with a request for a building permit to fence in the lot on the Northeast, corner of Main and "C" Streets and to install two aqua ammonia storage tanks inside the fence on said lot. He stated that said aqua ammonia was 80% water and 20% NH-3. After discussion it was suggested that Mr. Fricker would have to apply for a Variance to the Planning Commission. Correspondence was read. Council read a notice concern- ing the application for transfer of On-Sale Beer and Wine License at 155 "D"' Street "Ranch House" to Bernard Str H. Miller and Ula H. Miller. The correspondence was or- dered filed. The notice regarding the Orange County League of Cities meeting February 25th was read and filed. There was a discussion concerning Sanitation District No. 7's proposed election. VOLUNTEER Tadlock moved, Bacon seconded, motion duly carried, that FIREMEN,S the City pay the California State Fireman's Association PAY dues for the Volunteer Firemen of the City of Tustin and INCREASED that the Volunteer Firemen be paid for calls which they attend at the rate of $3.50 each man and that they be paid at the rate of $2.50 per man attending and partici- pating in drills. Street Commissioner Park reported concerning a letter from Thermon Means regarding repalring sidewalks and curb in front of the Tustin Presbyterian Church. This matter was referred to Commissioner Park to adjust with the City Engineer after March 15, 1954. Commissioner Bacon reported concerning tree stump re- moval. Councilman Kidd will continue to investigate the possi- bility of obtaining a blackboard for the Council Chambers. BILLS Tadlock moved, Park seconded, and the motion was carried, that the bills be paid excepting the statement from the Tustin Cement Pipe Company dated February 1, 1954, in ~'~ the sum of $133.98, which is to be paid only after ap- proval by Street Commissioner Park. Park moved, Tadlock seconded, that the Petty Cash Fund be reimbursed to bring the total in the Petty Cash Fund to $50.00. Motion carried. Park moved, Tadlock seconded, that the meeting be adjourned.
