HomeMy WebLinkAboutCC MINUTES 1953 08 31 MINUTES OF AN ADJOURNED REGULAR MEET- ING OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF TUSTIN, CALIFORNIA, HELD ON MONDAY EVENING, AUGUST 31, 1953, AT 4:40 P. M., AT THE CITY HALL COUNCILMEN PRESENT: Vincent L. Humeston, W. L. Tadlock and Arthur O. Park. COUNCILMEN ABSENT: Jerome C. Kind and Frank E. Bacon, Jr. CITY ATTORNEY: C. Arthur Nisson, Jr., was present. Mayor Humeston called the meeting to order at 4:40 P. By agreement the reading of the Minutes of the previous meeting were dispensed with until the next regular meet- ing· DONATION Mayor Humeston presented a letter signed by Mrs. John GRANTED TO Willcutt, Chairman Summer Recreation Program, request- SWIMMING ing a donation from the City for the Red Cross Swimming PROGRAM Program for the season just past. On motion of Council- man Park, seconded by Councilmm Tadlock and duly car- ried, it was agreed that the City donate the same amount as in previous years. RESOLUTION City Attorney Nisson presented Resolution No. 346 en- N0. 346 titled "A Resolution of the City Council of the City of ADOPTED Tustin Granting An Extension of Time For The Completion of the Improvement of Main Street Between California Street and "D" Street (U. S. Highway 101) Project No. 18 Major City Streets, and Accepting and Approving the -- Completion of Said Work and Ordering Payment Therefor." On motion of Councilman Park, seconded by Councilman Tadlock and duly carried, Resolution No. 346 was adopted. ' After discussion concerning a letter written by S. C. Penington, City Clerk, to the Postmaster General, upon motion of Councilman Tadlock, seconded by Councilman Park and duly carried, the City Attorney was instructed to write to the Postmaster General the attitude of the City and City Council. BILLS The following bills were presented, approved and or- dered paid on motion of Councilman Park, seconded by Councilman Tadlock and carried.
