SIDEWALK INSTALLATION - PACIFIC STREET
REQUEST:
Confirmation by City Council as to their desire to continue with the sidewalk
construction survey affecting the eight parcels along Pacific Street and as
detailed below.
BACKGROUND:.
Recently, the City Council requested a survey of eight residents along Pacific
Street between Second and Third'Streets with respect to their desires to have
sidewalks constructed across their properties. These eight properties are the
only parcels along Pacific Street between First and Main Streets where there is no
sidewalk.
DISCUSSION:
A preliminary field review of the eight affected parcels reveals that various
trees and shrubs will require removal. These removals are based upon the sidewalk
being located in its normal location adjacent to the street right-of-way line with
grass parkway area between the curb and front of the sidewalk. The following is a
recap of the required removals at each parcel:
PACIFIC ST. NUMBER OF TREES/ TRUNK(S)
ADDRESS SHRUBS DIAMETER

245 Two Pines 12 & 10 Inch
One Oleander ....
255 Two Unknown Species 6 & 6 Inch

250 One Ficus 8 Inch
254 One Multi-Stem Shrub I 1/2 - 2 Inch

Miscelaneous Landscaping ....
The current Assessor's office records indicate that six of the eight parcels are
owner-occupied.
It is suggested that Council review these parcels to determine if they desire to
continue with the survey to the eight parcels.
