HomeMy WebLinkAboutCC 11 RESTRICTED PKG 12-19-83AGENDA DATE: DECEMBER 8, 1983 CONSENT CALENDAR 12-19-83 Inter-eom TO: WILLIAM HUSTON, CITY MANAGER FROH: BOB LEDENDECKER, DIRECTOR OF PUBLIC WORKS/CITY ENGINEER SUBJECT: REQUEST FOR RESTRICTED PARKING RECOMMENDATION: That the Tustin City Council at their meeting of December 19, 1983 approve the installation o'f No Parking 6:00 a.m. to 12 Noon, Mondays during Street Sweeping Operations signs along Pepper Tree Circle and Cherrywood Circle northerly of ~Sycamore Avenue and that only warnings be issued for a period of 30 days after installation. BACKGROUND: Staff has received a request from a resident of the Pepper Tree Development to have restricted parking on certain streets during the hours of street sweeping operations. The initial request was for the one block of Pepper Tree Circle northerly of Sycamore Avenue. Staff sent questionnaires to all residents of Pepper Tree Circle, Cherrywood Circle and Sycamore Avenue (easterly of Alder Lane). DISCUSSION: The questionnaires were sent to the residents of each street with responses as follows: Pepper Tree Circle (16 Residences) 9 - For Parking Restriction (56%) 3 - Against Parking Restriction (19%) 4 - No Response (25%) Cherrywood Circle (12 Residences) 7 - Fom Parking Restriction (58%) 3 - Against Parking Restriction (25%) 2 - No Response (16%) Sycamore Avenue (9 Residences) 2 - For Parking Restriction (22%) 3 - Against Parking Restriction (33%) 3 - No Response (33%) 1 - Vacant (12%) REQUEST FOR RESTRICTED PARKING DECEMBER 8, 1983 PAGE 2 Due to the majority of residents along Pepper Tree and Cherrywood Circles desiring the parking restriction during street sweeping hours, it is suggested that the installation of signs be approved for both streets northerly of Sycamore Avenue and that no signing be installed on Sycamore Avenue. The signing for these streets will read as follows: NO PARKING 6:09 A.M.
